Chapter 79

"Are you really going to kill your own brother?" Ophir seemed to sense Scott''s intent. "Then again, your mother died because of him, didn''t she?"

"Shut up!" Scott''s hand trembled as the memory surged in his mind. Without hesitation, he fired a shot.

Regardless, Ophir dodged the sudden attack.

"Be careful, Analise. Ophir is probably trying to switch hosts. People are most vulnerable to possession when emotionally unstable," Echo warned.

It could protect Analise from Ophir''s influence, but not the others.

"Scott, don''t let it manipte your emotions. This isn''t Sean''s fault, and it''s not yours either," Analise reminded him.

She then turned to Gideon, asking, "Can your pocket drive restrain him?"

"No guarantees." He, too, noticed Sean''s strange behavior.

If it were an ordinary therian-even SSS-grade-he''d have full confidence. But there seemed to be more to Sean than met the eye.

"A nobody like you thinks you can ruin my ns? You really think I can''t deal with you?"

Controlling Sean''s body, Ophir pressed a button on the starship''s console.

In the next moment, Sawyer and the female who bore an uncanny resemnce to Scott''ste mother appeared before them.

The two of them were ced inside a cryotank and seemed to be in cryosleep.

Through Ophir''s maniption, the two were released from the cryotank.

"Analise..." Sean''s face suddenly twitched-his consciousness briefly resurfaced. "Don''t worry about me. Just destroy it."

    "Scotty... Help me..."

"Shut up! All of you, shut up!"

Sean''s expressions and voice kept shifting as the two souls wrestled control from each other.

Scott''s grip tightened. With no hesitation, he fired again.

    Somehow, he missed.

"Although this is a bizarre sight, now''s not the time to panic." Calmer than everyone around him, Gideon threw his pocket drive forward.

A secondter, everyone on the starship vanished into an inky ck space.

The sudden darkness made Analise tense up, but someone reached out and held her hand.

"Are you scared, Ana?" It was Gideon''s voice.

Warm fingers brushed against her cheek, and something was ced gently over her face.

Once fitted, her vision cleared immediately.

"So, this is the inside of the pocket driver?" she whispered.

"Yup. I''ve loaded it with weapons over the past few years. I''ve already activated auto-targeting. They''ve locked onto Sean," Gideon replied with a nod.

He held onto a tablet-like device and operated it. "Now it''s your bow''s turn."

"Can you hear me?" Gideon spoke into a mic and even blew at it to test if it was

    working.

    "Scott,

left. As therians, your mind essence might still be able to suppress him," Gideon said after some thought.

    Man''s six feet to your

The other silently acknowledged this. No one needed to say it aloud—they all knew something was wrong with Sean.

Although having three souls in one body sounded absurd, from the look of things now, it didn''t seem entirely impossible.

Hearing this, the group began to advance slowly.

"You-the tallest one in the security force. You''re going the wrong way. He''s to your right," Gideon corrected immediately after noticing.

Meanwhile, Analise had her bow drawn, aiming at Sean—or rather, Ophir—who was moving around slowly.

    "Let''s hope this shot hits."

Just as Scott and the others managed to restrain him, Analise shot the arrow.

Because Sean was restrained this time, Analise managed tond the shot in his chest, but it missed the heart.

    "Ugh... Hahaha... You think that''s

enough to get rid of me? You''re just a newborn system, aren''t you? How naive!" Ophir cackled through Sean''s mouth.

"If I can''t destroy you, I''ll at least shut you up for a while."

Analise took a few more steps forward and started drawing her arrow roughly 30

    feet away from Ophir.
