Elysia murmured, “Dorian has promised me so many times that nothing ever happened between him and Jessica. He swore they never overstepped, never slept together—just that their rtionship was a bit closer than that of typical siblings or friends."


    "But after seeing this picture, I realized-they really did sleep together. Otherwise, how would this photo even exist?”


    "Dorian actually lied to me..."


    She turned to look at Amara, her lips as pale as a ghost.


    "Ama, can you imagine the kind of shock I felt the instant I saw that picture?"


    "I''m almost embarrassed to admit it, but I felt like my entire world had copsed."

    She''d actually scheduled the procedure for a few dayster, since she''d been busy and hadn''t found the time.

    Elysia sensed there was more to that statement. She asked, "Ama, did something happen with you? Is it about Finnian?"


    After so many years as friends, they understood each other perfectly. Amara immediately got what Elysia meant.


    She pulled out her phone and showed Elysia a recent picture message. "It was an anonymous text-most likely from Liliana."


    Elysia stared at the photo, momentarily stunned.


    Amara said with a biting sarcasm, “Look at the timestamp on the picture. It was taken just these past couple of days, and do you know what Finnian''s been saying to me during that time?"


    "He told me he liked me. He said he wanted to take good care of me and the baby. He said he never really had feelings for Liliana, and only agreed to marry her because he mistakenly thought she was the one who saved his life."


    "But now, with the truth out, he says he doesn''t owe Liliana anything, so he''s breaking off the engagement and wants toe back to me."


    As Amara spoke, her eyes reddened, but a cold, mocking smile tugged at her lips.
