Chapter 741

Her husband had never liked her not even a little. He had only married her

because of pressure from his family, and once they tied the knot, he found she truly was every bit as conniving as the rumors imed. That only made him want to have less and less to do with her.

Lately, Amelia had been feeling quite stifled.

That day, after yet another full day stuck at home, Elowen sent Amelia a message: "I am so bored, I think I might start growing mold! I''m going to go crazy because of Amara!"

"If Amara were standing in front of me right now, I might just stab her. I honestly want to kill her, aargh!"

After receiving the message, Amelia sent back a voice note, her tone sharp with frustration: “What does Amara have besides her face? Why does everyone like her, and treat her so well?"

"Even Mr. Kevin Everly has fallen under her spell! He actually acknowledged her as his god-granddaughter in front of everyone. I can''t stand her! I wish I could take her down myself! We have to figure something out or I''ll never be satisfied!"

"So what can we do?" Elowen replied immediately. "Neither of us can even leave the house, while Amara gets to strut around wherever she wants every day. I tried pleading with my father again today, but hepletely ignored me. What am I supposed to do?"

Elowen sent a string of crying emojis, showing just how upset she was.

Amelia replied, “Are you clueless? Sure, we''re stuck inside, but that doesn''t mean nobody else can do things for us."

"We still have money to spend. Let me handle this—just wait and see.”

Elowen knew Amelia was smarter than she was, so she didn''t hesitate to hand the matter over. "Alright, you take care of it. If you need more money, let me know-I can contribute too..."

Later that day, Amara received a call from Mr. Frost, asking to meet her at the set.

Amara got ready and headed over.

The two of them toured the set, which was now almost fully prepared Both were genuinely Impressed: the props team had paid great attention to detail, and the set design was not only high-quality but also impressively realistic. Amara couldn''t help feeling very pleased.

They discussed a few minor issues with the script, and when they finished, Mr. Frost said he had other business to take care of and hurried off.

Amara was nning to head home as well. As she walked out alone, she noticed a young woman in a tracksuit with a crossbody bag standing in front of a wall, staring up at it absently.

The weathered wall was covered in flyers-advertisements for temp jobs as extras, celebrity makeup artists, assistants, and simr gigs.

Amara recognized the young woman immediately; it was Nora, Liliana''s personal assistant.

    Amara was curious—what was Nora

doing here? Shouldn''t she have been

with Liliana? She couldn''t help but

    en she

    look over twice. That''s when

noticed there were bruises on Nora''s

    face, making her even more

    surprised.

    "Ms. Sullivan?"

Nora seemed to have finished reading the flyers and was just about to leave when

she turned and saw Amara, greeting her instinctively.

Amara nodded in acknowledgment, saying nothing more.

As the saying goes, when you dislike someone, you tend to dislike everything and everyone around them. Amara had no fondness for Liliana, so it was hard to feel anything for Liliana''s assistant, either.

That said, Nora seemed like a decent person-she had earned a good reputation with the crew during ''Whispers of Winter.'' Amara didn''t harbor any personal animosity towards her she was just another acquaintance, so she merely nodded and was about to go on her way.

But Nora walked over, gathering her courage: "Ms. Sullivan, may I have a moment

of your time? There''s something I''d like to apologize for."
