Amelia hadn''te today as Ms. Abbott-she was here as Mrs. Walker Jr., apanied by her mother-inw.
Her status in her husband''s family was extremely low. Ever since her plot to harm Finnian and Amara had been exposed, her inws saw her as someonepletely inept, both in speech and action. Whenever they went out, her mother-inw kept a close watch on her, allowing her no freedom and constantly belittling her with both words and actions.
Today, she was once again out socializing with her mother-inw, but when the older woman was pulled away by an old friend, Amelia finally had a moment to herself. She immediately took the opportunity to approach Amara and taunt her.
"What do you mean, ''alone''?"
Just then, a cold voice rang out.
Everyone turned to look. From the crowd emerged a striking man in a white suit, ing to stand in front of Amara-Keith.
He ced his hand naturally on Amara''s waist, the gesture intimate, though his gaze was icy as he looked at Amelia.
Everyone froze for a moment at Keith''s sudden appearance, and Amelia stared at him in disbelief.
Weren''t Keith and Amara supposed to be broken up? Why would he show up at an event like this, and why was he openly defending her?
Keith had previously posted online that he knew about Amara''s pregnancy and was willing to marry her regardless. At the time, Amelia thought he was just putting on a show-she was convinced he was unaware of the pregnancy and had been
deceived by Amara.
But now it seemed Keith wasn''t deceived at all. He knew about the pregnancy-and he still seemed to care about Amara.
Keith gave Amelia a brief, pointed look, mitting her face to memory, before turning to Amara and asking, "Are you okay?"
Amara whispered, "I''m fine. Please take your hand away."
Although they were officially broken up, Keith had suddenly appeared and wrapped his arm around her. While he''d helped her out of an awkward situation, Amara knew that if word got out, Edith and Nathan would surely misunderstand her-something she wanted to avoid.
But Keith reassured her, "Don''t worry. You don''t have to be afraid of anything. I''ll stand by you."
A wave of warmth washed over Amara, even as a murmur of whispers spread through the crowd.
"So are they broken up or not? Amara''s pregnant, and Keith still wants to be with her?"
"Doesn''t look like they''ve split up to me. They''re so close."
"Wasn''t that the young Mrs. Walker from the Abbott family? How embarrassing for her..."
"They''ve definitely broken up. My mom''s pretty close with Mrs.
Winters, and she said they already ended things. But now Keith''s with Amara again maybe they still have feelings for each other.
Low, hushed conversations filled the room as many eyes turned to watch Amara and Keith.
Finnian''s gaze was fixed on the hand Keith had around Amara''s waist, his expression frosty.
A few days ago, Keith had rested his
hand on Amara''s shoulder, but that was just a friendly gesture, and Fingian had known they were broken, up, so he hadn''t thought much of it.
But today, Keith was holding Amara by the waist in front of everyone-what was going on?
He asked coldly, "Weren''t you two supposed to be broken up?"
As soon as Finnian finished speaking, silence fell over the crowd.
