Their coffee had been served while they were talking, and now both cups were nearly empty. Finnian tossed the remaining cups into the trash, then turned to look at Amara.
Amara stood up silently and followed Finnian outside.
Back home, Amara still felt a little uneasy, but she didn''t let it bother her for long. After all, Finnian was probably just talking. Even if she never called him "brother" or thought of him as one, what could he really do? Soon enough, she managed to push that awkwardness out of her mind.
Just then, Amara received a message from Larry: "If you''re nning to terminate the pregnancy, it''s better to do it sooner rather thanter. Waiting will take a much bigger toll on your body."
This was the message that truly weighed on Amara. She frowned, troubled-what was she supposed to do?
The more she stared at the message, the more it bothered her. Even after deleting it, the anxiety lingered. Wanting to talk to someone, she called Elysia to see if she was avable.
Elysia said she had time, so they met up. After talking about Larry and their pregnancies, they agreed to go for their prenatal check-ups together.
Both of them were expecting, so they had already made appointments online. They checked in, went through the necessary tests, and got their results quickly. Everything looked great. Relieved, the two of them linked arms as they left the OB/GYN department, chatting and joking as they discussed where to go next for a little fun.
But just as they were debating where to go, Amara looked up and froze. Walking toward them were two familiar figures.
Jessica and Dorian.
Jessica was holding a medical report, and Dorian was supporting her arm, looking exceptionally attentive. The sight made Amara''s face instantly darken, while Elysia turned pale, nearly losing her bnce.
In broad daylight, Dorian and Jessica wereing out of the OB/GYN clinic
together, and Dorian was even holding her arm. What was going on?
A wave of dread washed over Amara, and her hands clenched into fists.
If she felt this way, how could Elysia possibly be okay? When Amara
Ine
turned to look she saw Elysia''s face was as white as a sheet, and she frowned.
Dorian, seeing Amara and Elysia, was equally shocked. He instinctively let go of Jessica and took a step back, asking, “What are you doing here?"
Elysia didn''t answer. She just stared at him, her eyes full ofplicated emotion.
Dorian immediately started to panic.
Even as a man, he knew how easily people could misunderstand seeing him and Jessica walk out of the OB/GYN clinic together.
He was about to exin when Jessica cut him off. "Elysia, please don''t get the wrong idea. I just got my period and was having really bad cramps so Dorian brought mete see a doctor. That''s all, nothing else."
Getting your period is such a personal thing for a woman. If she was feeling that bad, wouldn''t she usually ask her mom or a close girlfriend to go with her to the doctor? Why would she have Dorian-a man-apany her? Cóntent
And Dorian actually went with her. What was he thinking?
Even sisters wouldn''t go with each other to the doctor for something like that.
