"Alright, you can treat me," Morgan said generously. "You pick the restaurant. I''m easy—I''ll eat anything."
Amara thought for a moment. "There''s a nice ce nearby. Let''s go there."
She was referring to the same restaurant Finnian had taken her to before. Morgan didn''t mind, so he drove them there, following Amara''s directions.
They entered the restaurant side by side, and a waiter led them inside.
The restaurant owner happened to walk by. He paused when he saw them, a knowing, slightly amused smile appearing on his face. He quickly texted Finnian: "Finn, guess who I just spotted?"
After sending the message, he even snapped a photo of Amara and Morgan from behind and sent it along as well.
Once Amara and Morgan were settled in a private dining room, they picked up the menus and started to order. While they waited for the food, Morgan asked, "You''ve had a lot going ontely. Want to tell me about it?"
His tone was gentle and rxed, making Amara feel like she was talking to a friend. It put her at ease.
Honestly, setting aside all theplicated romantic stuff, Amara thought Morgan would make a great friend.
She considered for a moment, then said, “It''s actually pretty simple. I''m pregnant. I can''t tell you who the father is, but it''s definitely not Keith. Keith didn''t really mind, so for a while we were nning to get married."
"But right before the wedding, something unexpected happened-someone exposed the news about my pregnancy. His family couldn''t ept it, so we had to call off the wedding. That''s basically what happened."
Morgan let out a low whistle. "So Keith knew you were pregnant and still wanted to marry you? He must really love you."
Amara smiled but didn''tment further.
Morgan poured Amara a ss of water and asked curiously, "I won''t ask who the father is, but I am genuinely curious why did you decide to keep the baby? Are you nning to raise the child on your own?" s?novels
Amara nodded. "Things between me and the baby''s father areplicated, but there''s nothing between us anymore."
"I was nning to raise the baby myself and never get married. But then Keith changed my mind, so I thought I''d give marriage a try."
Of course, that wasn''t the whole truth-but it was all she could say.
"I''ve been staying with the Everly familytely," Amara continued. "Mr. Kevin Everly has been very good to me he treats me like his own granddaughter, and see him as my own grandfather." S to''
"He hoped I''d find a good future, so he introduced me to you."
"In hindsight, I should have told him the truth back then—that I was pregnant. That way, you wouldn''t have gotten pulled into this. I was too timid at the time.”
Amara felt that many people had made mistakes in this situation, but Morgan was definitely an innocent party-the one she felt most sorry for.
Morgan said kindly, "You don''t need to feel guilty really did admire you back then, and honestly, Lliked you quite a bit. But it''s probably for the best that we didn''t get too
close-otherwise, I might have fallen for youpletely."
His meaning was clear: because they hadn''t spent much time together, his feelings hadn''t gone too deep, and he had already moved on. That set Amara''s mind at
ease.
"You really are a good person," Amara blurted out.
He raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What makes you say that?"
