Chapter 539

Edith was the same age as Nathan, but thanks to meticulous self-care, she looked younger.

She was beautiful, and years in a position of power had given her a sharp, intelligent air. She was clearly a very capable and formidable career woman.

They arranged to meet at a high-end restaurant downtown. Amara chose a very feminine dress and wore elegant, understated makeup suitable for meeting elders. She curled her hair and let it fall over her shoulders, looking both graceful and pretty.

She had seen Nathan and Edith from a distance a few times when she was a child but had never interacted with them directly. She was still a little nervous. Keithforted her and held her hand as they entered the private dining room.

    "Dad, Mom, this is Amara."

"Amara, do you remember my parents? You probably met them when you were little."

Keith pulled out a chair for Amara and smiled as he made the introductions.

Amara looked at Nathan, who was seated formally at the head of the table, and said, "It''s nice to see you, Mr. West."

Nathan was a very serious man who didn''t seem to talk much. He looked her up and down, gave a curt nod, and said nothing more.

Amara then greeted Edith. Edith also gave her a thorough, assessing look from head to toe before nodding.

"You''re quite beautiful, it''s true. I hear you''re also very talented. Have you been a screenwriter for many years?"

"Yes, I started writing scripts in college and began working as a professional screenwriter after graduation. I''ve written several TV series over the past few years," Amara answered honestly.

To her surprise, Edith let out a heavy sigh. "Well, a screenwriter and an actor. A perfect match, I suppose. But do you two really n to stay in that messy entertainment industry forever? You''re almost thirty Shouldn''t you be thinking seriously about your future?"

Amara was stunned. Wasn''t this supposed to be a pre-wedding meeting with the parents? How did it suddenly turn into a career nning session?

Keith frowned instantly. "Mom, why are you bringing this up now?"

"What else should I talk about? Was I wrong? Aren''t you two getting older and needing to think about the future?"

"Never mind that the entertainment industry is full of filth and isn''t a sustainable career path. Both of you have family businesses to inherit. Are you just going to ignore such a heavy responsibility?"

Edith''s words came out like rapid-fire shots. She looked at Amara and asked, "You''re the younger daughter of the Sullivan Group, aren''t you? Your father is getting on in years. Has he discussed the inheritance distribution with you?"

There was no reason to hide this, and Amara wasn''t sure if Edith was a snob. If she imed to have nothing, she might be looked down upon.

So she said, "My father has decided to give me the majority of the shares, with a small portion going to my stepsister."

This was what Edith had expected, especially since the so-called elder daughter of the Sullivan family was Fiona''s child from a previous marriage.

She said, "The Sullivan Group is a sizeablepany. Since you''re inheriting the majority stake, the responsibility of managing it falls to

    you

And we only have Keith she

will definitely be taking over the WestWinter Group in the future."

"Therefore, you should put your scriptwriting on hold for now and focus on studying business. It would be best if you could get a master''s degree in economics Then in the future, you''ll take over the Sullivan Group, and Keith will take over the WestWinter Group."

"Later on, you two can see if there are any business synergies. You can help each

other and work together to make bothpanies bigger and stronger."

    Amara was speechless.
