A man as old-fashioned and traditional as Larry would be absolutely furious. For the sake of what truly mattered, it seemed marriage was her only option.
All day, Amara couldn''t focus on work or reading. Her mind was consumed by the Sullivan family drama. The idea of marriage wasn''t entirely impossible. As a screenwriter, she knew plenty of actors. She could hire one to y the part of her husband. But what if she was found out? It was a huge risk.
She called Elysia and exined the situation. After hearing the story, Elysia swore. "Is Larry insane? Look at his own track record with marriage-not exactly a sess story, is it? Why is he so obsessed with it? The man has lost his mind!"
Amara nodded instinctively. "You''re telling me. If he were sane, would he be pulling a stunt like this? I just...." She sighed heavily.
Elysia offered a few words offort before asking, "So what are you going to do? Are you really going to get married?"
As Amara''s best friend, Elysia knew exactly how much those shares meant to her.
Amara nodded slowly. "I might have to..."
She was so tired. She talked with Elysia for a little longer, but neither of them coulde up with a better solution. They chatted for a bit before hanging up.
After the call, Elysia couldn''t stop thinking about Amara''s predicament when a brilliant idea struck her why not give Keith a chance?
From her perspective, Keith''s affection for Amara was rare and genuine. He was willing to be with her even knowing she was pregnant with Finian''s child. Not one man in ten thousand would do that. Besides, Keith was a great guy, and he and Amara already had a deep, established connection. If Amara asked him to enter a sham marriage, he would agree in a heartbeat.
Then, after they were married, they could spend time together, let their feelings grow, and turn a fake marriage into a real one. It was a ssic romance novel plot: marry first, loveter!
The more Elysia thought about it, the more perfect it seemed. Giddy with excitement, she immediately called Amara back.
"Ama, you should just marry someone, and I think Keith is the perfect choice," she said, unable to contain her enthusiasm. "Given your history he''d definitely agree to help you out. And think about it, a fake marriage has risks. What if you hire a stranger and he turns out to be con artist With Keith, you know exactly who you''re dealing with. It''s convenient, safe, and you won''t get scammed. It''s the best of both worlds!"
To be honest, Amara had considered Keith, but she''d quickly dismissed the idea. "No, absolutely not," she said quickly. "If we get a divorceter, it''ll make him a divorced man. That''s not fair to him."
"Well, technically, yeah, a first marriage is better than a second, but divorce is somon these days, it''s not a big deal. If Keith meets the love of his lifeter, he can just exin the situation. It wouldn''t cause any problems."
Elysia''s point wasn''t entirely without merit, but Amara still couldn''t bring herself to agree.
Sensing her hesitation, Elysia pressed on Look, Ama, you know you have to marry someone to get back what''s rightfully yours, right? Within your circle of options, Keith is the best one. Don''t say it''s not fair to hint let him make that decision for himself. He''s a grown man. He knows that every choice has consequences. Just give him the choice."
