Chapter 379

"I''ve been a little busy these days-I haven''t told Finn yet."

Liliana was seething inside, but none of it showed on her calm, posed face.

"I''ll figure out how to say it. Once I find a time when Finn and I are both free, I''ll tell him."

Hogan studied her for a moment. She didn''t look like she was lying, so he nodded and left her dressing room.

The moment Hogan was gone, a fierce glint crept into Liliana''s eyes. She picked up a teacup and hurled it against the wall, shattering it with a sharp crack.

Finnian could never find out about this—not ever. If he did, everything would spiral out of control. But Hogan just kept pushing her. What on earth was she supposed to do?

Hogan had identally uncovered her fake pregnancy, but at the end of the day, he had no proof. All he could do was talk. Finnian would never believe him one hundred percent-but it would definitely nt a seed of doubt.

So, if she could just make Finnian lose trust in Hogan, or better yet, get him to outright hate his brother, she''d be safe.

But Finnian and Hogan were brothers-real brothers. Sure, Finnian didn''t exactly hold Hogan in high regard, but they generally got along. How could she possibly turn them against each other?

Suddenly, a bold idea shed through Liliana''s mind.

Her heart pounded as she weighed it. At first, it sounded far-fetched, but the longer she considered it, the more usible it seemed. Atst, she made up her mind. Pulling out her phone, she dialed Emma''s number.

"Hello, Mrs. Emma Everly? I need a favor," she said with a smile once the call connected. "Are you free this evening? Let me take you to dinner-we can talk in person."

Two dayster, Amara received an invitation to a formal dinner party.

The event was hosted by Emma herself—a wee home celebration thrown in her own honor.

After years abroad, it made sense for someone of Emma''s status to hold such an event on her return. But Amara had no interest in attending.

It wasn''t just that she didn''t want to see Emma; she knew Emma''s motives were anything but pure. Inviting her to this party probably meant one thing: Emma wanted her to watch Luana and Finnian act lovey-dovey all night, just to twist the knife. And Amara had no intention of subjecting herself to that.

She was about to politely decline when a piece of news changed her mind. The director of her uing series, *Letters from the Past*, was also attending Emma''s party. Mr Frost had even texted her to say he wanted to discuss some details of the show with her at the event.

Mr. Frost knew Amara had ties to the Everly family, but probably wasn''t aware of her strained

naturally invite her and decided to take the chance to meet.

Lately, Mr. Frost had been filming in another city and rarely made it back to Wye. Meeting him was a rare opportunity, and Amara didn''t want to pass it up. Reluctantly, she decided to go.

On the day of the party, Amara slipped into a refined, understated evening dress, her makeup elegant and perfectly matched. She made her way to the hotel, ready for the evening ahead.

As soon as she stepped through the door, all eyes turned to her her identity and her striking looksmanding attention once more.

But she was used to this. Barely blinking at the stares, she walked in with quiet confidence. Most guests quickly lost interest, ncing at her once or twice before turning back to their own conversations.
