Amara let out a sigh as she looked at him, then walked over and rested her hand on his shoulder. “I know you''ve always worried about me," she said, her voice light, "but there''s really no need. I''ve got looks, I''ve got money, and honestly, raising my kid on my own suits me just fine. What''s there to be concerned about?"
To her, Elysia and Keith were more like family than friends. They always found different ways to look out for her-Elysia with her warm, attentive gestures, Keith with his gruff but steadfast support. The difference, Amara figured, came down to gender more than anything else.
Even though Keith''s suggestion tonight hadpletely blindsided her, she could still sense his good intentions and, in a way, found itforting.
Watching her, Keith realized she was still utterly clueless. He sighed, clearly giving up hope that she''d catch on to what he meant anytime soon.
He reached out and rapped his knuckles lightly against her forehead. "Alright, alright, have it your way. My offer still stands-if you ever change your mind, just let me know."
"Yeah, yeah, noted. Now go do your job already." Amara gave him a shove toward the door.
The entire crew was working overtime that night. It was nearly ten, but there was still one more scene to shoot-an important one, at that: the first kiss between the male and female leads.
Because it was such a key moment, Amara brought herptop and went outside to watch from behind the camera. Keith and Liliana were already in position, standing in front of the lens while Cedric, the director, walked them through the scene.
When he finished, the two actors took a step apart, and Cedric moved behind the camera to adjust the final angle.
But just as Cedric was about to call "action," Keith suddenly raised his hand to signal a pause.
"What''s wrong?" Cedric asked, thrown off.<fn1140> For more chapters visit FιndNovel</fn1140>
Keith''s expression was calm. "I think we should fake the kiss-use camera angles."
A hush fell over the set.
These days, faking a kiss with clever camera work was pretty standard, but usually it was the actress who requested it. Having the male lead bring up first, especially with someone like Lina, was unusual enough to make everyone nce curiously at Keith. s
Liliana was no stranger to filming kiss scenes, and in the past, she''d always been the one to request the camera trick. This time, with Keith bringing it up first, she couldn''t help but feel a sting to her pride. s
Still, she had to say something-otherwise it would only look worse. She curved her lips into a teasing smile. "What''s up with you, Keith? Afraid Amara will get jealous?"
She shot a nce at Amara and covered her mouth as sheughed. "You two really are close, huh?"
Amara''s brow furrowed immediately, her expression turning sour.
As the screenwriter, she knew she shouldn''t be interfering on set, but thest thing she wanted was for people to get the wrong idea about her and Keith.
She stepped forward. "Ms. Porter, what are you implying? Keith and I are just friends. Who he kisses on set is none of my business-why would I care?"
Liliana had expected a response like that and just waved it off. "I was only joking, Ms. Sullivan. Don''t take it to heart."
She might have been ready to let it go, but Keith clearly wasn''t. His lips curled into a faint smirk. "What did you mean by that, exactly? Ama doesn''t mind me doing kiss
scenes but I do s
The words "I do"nded with a heavy silence.
Keith actually minded kissing Liliana? It was hard not to take offense. Eyes
around the set flicked to Liliana, a new, curious edge to their gaze.
