Chapter 334

Amara knew Elysia well enough to not press the issue. She just joked around a bit, and the two of them started heading out.

Since Elysia had been drinking, Amara nned to drop her off at home before heading back herself.

But as they were making their way to the underground parking garage, three unwee faces appeared: Finnian, Dorian, and Jessica.

Finnian and Dorian walked side by side at the front, with Jessica slightly behind, sticking close to Dorian.

Seeing them, Elysia''s expression turned icy, her gaze sharp. Amara frowned as well.

"Let''s take a different route, Ely," Amara muttered under her breath, thinking "just our luck," as she grabbed Elysia''s arm, ready to turn around.

Elysia frowned. "Why should we change our path? They''re the ones who should move."

Even though she said that, she didn''t resist Amara pulling her along.

Amara sighed, "You see a rabid dog on the road, you don''t stick around to reason with it, right? You just walk away."

Elysia chuckled at the analogy, her irritation fading in an instant.

Just then, Amara heard footsteps and felt someone grab her arm. It was Finnian.

Amara frowned. "Mr. Everly, what are you doing?"

Without a word, Finnian pulled her aside.

His grip was firm, leaving no room for argument, and Amara wasn''t pleased.

"Mr. Everly, what''s this about?" she asked coldly, rubbing her wrist where his grip had left a mark as they stopped behind arge pir.

Seeing the red mark on her wrist, Finnian felt a pang of guilt and admiration for her delicate skin. "Sorry, it''s nothing," he said.

If it was nothing, why had he approached her? Amara wasn''t amused.

Her feelings towards Finnian wereplicated. Despite the pain he''d caused her, he''d also saved her life twice.

However, her feelings towards Dorian and Jessica were pure resentment. Seeing them together with Finnian only made her more distant.<fna870> Follow current nov?ls on FιndNovel</fna870>

Finnian seemed to understand why she was acting this way. In a low voice he exined, "Jessica''s a trantor for the Everly Group. We were just taking her along for business talks today."  s

He wanted to clear up any misunderstanding. The three of them were just working together, nothing more.

Amara knew Jessica worked for the

Everly Group and that she was apetent trantor. Given her connection to Dorian, it wasn''t surprising they''d brought her along for business. She nodded, though her expression remained frosty.  s

    Finnian watched her profile.

Her side profile was soft and gentle, and even with her somber expression, she had an awkward kind of charm.

He resisted the urge to tease her and said, "If she bothers you, I can fire her." Amara''s heart skipped a beat.

What was Finnian thinking? Jessica''s job had nothing to do with her.

And besides, she and Finnian had rtionship. His suggestion was far too suggestive. She looked down and said, Mr. Everly, there''s no need for that."  s
