Chapter 234

Amara was caught off guard and quickly nced around, looking for an escape route. Just then, she spotted Cedric emerging from another hallway, chatting with Louis. She hurried over to them.

"Good morning, Mr. Zade, Louis," she greeted with a smile.

"Well, Amara, you''re up early! After everything that happened yesterday, you should be taking it easy this morning. Why are you out and about?" Cedric chuckled as he greeted her.

Amara waved her hand dismissively. "No need, really. I''m perfectly fine and ready to work as usual."

"True, true. Thanks to Mr. Everly, of course. Oh, speak of the devil, there''s Mr. Everly now!" Cedric turned to see Finnian approaching. His smile widened as he waved him over. "Good morning, Mr. Everly. Heading to the set? Why not join us?"

"Sure," Finnian replied as he nodded, giving Amara a sidelong nce as he casually walked over to join them.

Amara''s smile froze on her lips. She''d hoped to avoid Finnian, but it seemed fate had other ns. Not that she could me Cedric-Finnian was the big-time investor in their production. It would be odd not to invite him along since he had already spotted Finnian.

She silently cursed Finnian. In the past, he wouldn''t have deigned to walk with them. But today, he epted the invitation. Was he still the old Finnian?

Once they reached the set, Amara was quick to say, "Mr. Zade, Louis, I''ll go prepare. Let''s catch upter."

Cedric and the others nodded, mentioning they had work to do as well. Amara parted ways with them.

She set up her folding chair next to the camera, spreading her notebook open across her knees, and began to focus on the filming and taking notes. About thirty minutes passed when a shadow fell over her. A familiar voice spoke, "You''re taking notes?"

Amara looked up into Finnian''s lowered eyes and replied, "Yes, Mr. Everly. Is there something you need?"

"Not really, just wanted to check on you."

Finnian nced around and spotted an empty chair. He picked it up and walked over to her.

Amara was startled. Was Finnian really going to sit beside her on the chair? It seemed so out of character for a man like him. More importantly, if they sat together like that, fumors would undoubtedly fly around the set.  s?novel

Quickly, she stood up and faced Finnian as he approached, uttering, "Mr. Everly, let''s talk."

Finnian''s lips curled into a slight smile, which vanished just as quickly. "Alright."

Amara closed her notebook and headed towards a small grove nearby. Finnian followed her.

They stopped at a spot far enough from the set to have some privacy, yet close enough to remain in sight. Amara asked, "Mr. Everly, what are you doing? Were you serious about what you saidst night?"

"Do you think I was joking?"

Finnian met her gaze. Amara''s eyes were clear and captivating, truly mesmerizing. Every time he looked at her, he was drawn not to the

mask she wore but to those eyes.

Amara thought for a moment before speaking. "Mr. Everly, I think you''re mistaken

about your feelings. You don''t actually fancy me; it''s just a sense of

    possessiveness."
