"Hahaha," Amaraughed. "Don''t say it like that. But seriously, many people are amazed. I''ve heard whispers about how Finnian puts up with all this."
"This must be quite embarrassing for the Everly family, huh?" she spected, "Hope it''ll work tonight."
They shared thetest gossip, chatting and dancing effortlessly, their chemistry undeniable, seemingly inseparable.
Just then, Keith''s phone buzzed. He pulled it out, ncing at the screen and uttered, "It''s my agent. I need to take this call."
"Alright, find a quiet spot. I''lle with you."
They left the dance floor, climbing the spiral staircase together.
Meanwhile, Celeste and Hogan had been watching them closely. Seeing them head upstairs, Celeste''s eyes darkened. "They''re definitely going up there to make out, don''t you think? I need to find a way to capture some evidence."
"I''ll go. I''m more discreet," Hogan volunteered immediately.
"Fine. But just taking photos isn''t enough. It''d be better if everyone could witness it firsthand."
A malicious glint flickered in Celeste''s eyes, as cold as a snake.
Hogan lowered his voice. "What''s your n this time?"
"Here''s what we''ll do."
She leaned in, whispering her scheme, and Hogan''s eyes lit up. "That''s brilliant. Let''s do it."
Upstairs, Keith stood by the window, on the phone, with Amara waiting nearby.
A few minutester, Keith ended the call, frowning. "They want me toe over again. This job is really getting on my nerves."
Amara chuckled. "You earn so much money, and yet youin about them wanting to reach you anytime? You''re being unreasonable."
Keith sighed, "I''ve got to go. Want me to drop you off first?"
"I''ll stay a bit longer. The director for my next project will be here soon. I''ll chat with him and then leave."
"Alright, I''m off. Call me if you need anything."
Keith left, and Amara checked her phone, seeing she had half an hour until the director arrived. Not
wanting to head back downstairet
alone she wandered up to the
rooftop terrace, walking to the railing to enjoy the breeze.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang, as if the door had been mmed shut. Amara turned around to see Finian closing the rooftop door with one hand, striding towards her
She lowered her gaze as Finnian approached. She asked, "Mr. Everly, do you need something?"
"Is he gone?" Finnian asked, lifting Amara''s chin to make her meet his gaze.
He was obviously referring to Keith, and Amara replied, "Yes, he''s gone."
She tried to shake off Finnian''s hand, but he held her chin firmly, his eyes never leaving her face.
Grasping his wrist, she inquired, "Mr. Everly, what are you doing?"
Finnian released her, his eyes studying her with an inscrutable intensity.
"What''s the matter? My wife shows up with another man at a party, and I can''t even check in?"
Amara paused, a hint of sarcasm ying at her lips.
"Mr. Everly, that''s quite amusing. Have you ever really seen me as your wife?"
Finnian didn''t reply, just continued to watch her.
Under the dim lighting of the rooftop, only a single bulb illuminated their corner Amara''s eyes, though clear and bright, had a captivating depth that seemed to draw people in.
