Chapter 137

Amara didn''t hold back, not one bit.

She was shaking with anger, a thousand words on the tip of her tongue, but none of them came out. All she could do was throw back whatever was hurled at her.

She knew how it was in this world; the double standards between men and women when it came to infidelity were clear as day. A woman stepping out was seen as an unforgivable sin, especially when she and Finnian were on such unequal footing.

Finnian could get away with his misdeeds, with people only calling him a dies'' man" at worst. But for her, it felt like the whole world was ready to push her off a cliff, and to make matters worse, she hadn''t even done anything wrong. She was being falsely used!

Hogan, having been shut down by Amara, was fuming. He wanted tosh out again but couldn''t find the words.

Kevin''s eyes were misty as he spoke, his voice trembling. "Ama, I understand. I won''t treat you any different than Finn, even though he''s my grandson. I know how much you''ve suffered over the years, and I''m on your side.

But this whole mess, no matter who''s at fault, it just breaks my heart. Finn''s been fooling around with that actress, even has a bastard on the way. You think I''m okay with that? I am not okay. It''s not just because she''s an actress, but this whole affair and a baby out of wedlock, it''s all too much to bear."

Kevin didn''t mince words, disrespecting either her or her baby, making it clear in front of Liliana that he didn''t ept her or the child she was carrying.

Liliana''s face was a storm cloud; her destination was to publicly chastise Amara, but she hadn''t expected to be dragged into this and end up so tarnished.

"Kevin, I swear I didn''t do anything. I''m being set up."

Amara''s eyes reddened at Kevin''s words. She wasn''t sure if he truly meant what he said or if he was biased towards his grandson but trying not to show it. But ultimately, that didn''t matter.

What mattered was that over the

    past month, Kevin had been

unyielding in his stance against Liliana and had evenid into Finnian about it.

So, Amara knew that at least Kevin wasn''t ying favorites between her and Finnian. But she was innocent! She hadn''t done anything wrong!

"You''re still denying it? Liliana''s alreadyid out the evidence, and you''re still stubborn as a mule."

Hogan, who had been forcibly shut down, regained his footing, and jumped at the chance to counter Amara''s denial.

    "Enough!"

A cold, hard voice cut through the

    tension-it was Finnian. Since

    entering the room, Finnian hadn''t

uttered a word. Now, everyone turned to look at him, seeing his face dark with rage, eyes zing with

    fury.

He strode over to Amara, ignoring the startled gazes of those around him.

Grabbing her wrist, he pulled her out of the room.

"You''re still not going to admit it?" Finnian demanded as they were outside, ring at her sternly.

"And you''re still not going to believe me?" Amara shot back, not answering his question.

She thought Finnian had brought her out to get to the bottom of things, but it seemed he had already made up his mind.

"I only trust what I see," Finnian said. "I saw Keith wrap his arm around you, right there in public."
