Chapter 133

Seeing that Amara wasn''t aspliant as she''d imagined, Liliana tried a different approach.

"Did you marry into the Everly family just for the money? And aren''t you secretly thrilled that Mr. Kevin Everly is blocking your divorce? More money if you stay married, right?"

Amara found the ideaughable. A smirk yed on her lips. "Think whatever you want. The money''s already in my hands, and your jealousy won''t change that."

It was clear to Amara that Liliana''s demanding her giving up the divorce assets was envy. She just couldn''t stand the fact that Amara had walked away with so much cash. Liliana must have imagined herself as Finnian''s wife and resented that Amara was spending what she believed should have been hers.

Realizing this, Amara saw no point in arguing. She could simply enjoy riling Liliana up.

Liliana''s frustration boiled over. Brows knitted, she remarked, "Ms. Sullivan, you''re finally showing your true colors. You''re just after the Everly family''s wealth. And..."

Her tone turned sharp. "I heard you have an affair with the leading man from our production? You really can''t control yourself, can you? Instead of being a dutiful wife at home, you''re out there with another man. Are you nning to drain the Everly family dry and run off with your lover? You must be so pleased with yourself, getting all that money."

Amara found Liliana''s usations absurd but held her tongue, watching her with

    cold eyes.

"Why aren''t you saying anything?" Liliana pressed, her teeth clenched. "Are you ashamed because I hit a nerve?"

"Not at all," Amara replied. "You''re spouting nonsense and falsely using me of being unfaithful. You''re the one who should be ashamed."

"If you weren''t unfaithful, why is Keith so fond of you? Don''t give me that ''just friends'' line. He was all over you in public, sticking with you through thick and thin. Friends don''t do that."

Liliana''s words were pointed, as if she was trying to nail down Amara''s supposed infidelity.

Amara had been ready to dismiss Liliana''s twisted logic but then a thought struck her: was Liliana hoping to prove her guilty of infidelity so she''d get less money in the divorce?

Augh bubbled up from Amara. "Liliana, are you really that illiterate?"

"What do you mean?" Liliana questioned.

"Thew protects those with assets, not the wronged party in a scandal of infidelity. In a divorce case, a judge might grant a modest

spouse, but it''s usually just a few hundred or thousand dors. Not much at all. If you''re clueless about thew, maybe you should study up," Amara exined.

"And as for infidelity, Finnian was the one who cheated on me first. You

two even have a child together. That''s far worse than anything I''ve done. So what gives you the right to judge me? You really are shameless."

Amara had no need to maintain appearances in front of Liliana. She spoke her mind freely, while Liliana still had to contain herself, her body visibly trembling with rage.

"You''ve finally shown your true colors, haven''t you?. While you''re out with another wild man, you''re scheming to take Finn''s wealth. You''re the real shameless one here!"

    After Liliana finished, Amara

    abruptly stood and pped her

across the face. The sound echoed, and Liliana''s head snapped to the side, her pale cheek marked by a vivid red handprint, stark and shocking.
