Amara lived on the second floor, and Finnian climbed the stairs and rapped his knuckles against the door a few times.
"Is it the delivery?"
Amara had just ordered some fresh veggies, nning to whip up breakfast first thing in the morning. It was about time for the delivery to arrive, so she didn''t think much of it, slipped on her slippers, and opened the door.
To her surprise, it was Finnian standing there; she was taken aback.
"Why are you here sote?"
Amara nced at the clock. It was already 10:47 PM. Most people with a regr schedule would be in bed by now. Why was he here out of blue?
Finnian was about to respond when he noticed a men''s bag on the couch, his gaze freezing on it.
That bag was a new release from a couple of months ago. During an auction, Elysia had suggested he buy something for Amara. He had Will ask Amara what she wanted, and she''d asked for a set of matching bags, one for a man and one for a woman.
He''d assumed the men''s bag was meant for him, butst time he''d seen a man with a mask at Amara''s ce, carrying this exact bag.
And now, here it was again, in Amara''s apartment. So, was that guy here now too? And was he Lucian?
Just as Finnian was going to ask, the bedroom door swung open. A tall man with bare chest emerged, towel around his waist, drying his wet hair with another towel. While doing so, he asked, "Ama, did the delivery arrive?"
As he spoke, Keith noticed Finnian standing at the door and stopped in his tracks. Finnian''s face was a thundercloud. He pushed past Amara and stormed right up to Keith.
"What are you doing in my wife''s apartment? What kind of rtionship do you have with my wife?"
His gaze was cold and dangerous, each word enunciated with precision.
Keith nced down at the towel wrapped around his waist, aware of how this could be easily
misinterpreted. He callously smirked instead of exining, teasing, "Your wife, Mr. Everly? Isn''t that a bit absurd?"
His tone was mocking, taunting even, and Finnian''s muscles tensed, his fists clenching slightly, a picture of hellish manace, as if he was ready for a fight at any moment.
Keith wasn''t backing down either. He kept on in an impassive tone, "Oh, Mr. Everly, you want a brawl, huh? I''ll dly oblige."
But if they were going to fight, Keith thought it would be wise to get dressed first. No way was he going to risk losing his towel mid-fight and looking less imposing.
As he nced around for his clothes, Amara stepped in, voice icy as she dered, "Mr. Everly, this is my apartment. Please leave."

Finnian''s pupils contracted. Their interactions had always been few, but he could tell Amara had always been gentle and amodating with him. She wouldn''t have been bringing him meals unceasingly for three years otherwise, and she had been agreeable with him recently, too.
But now, for some random guy, she was ordering him out? Finnian''s eyes darkened, stormy and terrifying.
"Mr. Everly, I have things to attend to. Please leave," Amara insisted, her voice firm with a touch of irritation, seeing he hadn''t budged.
