"Your dirty, underhanded schemes might fool others, but they won''t fool me!" Thaddeus''s eyes darkened, a sliver of icy killing intent shing in his gaze. He knew there was no point wasting another breath on this man.
"Chasel ruined Sir''s ns, so he has to die. And I''m taking your life too!"
Before the words even settled,n drew his gun and aimed it squarely at Thaddeus''s head. "I''ll send you to hell first, then I''ll kill Chasel. I''m going to make Cassius suffer for the rest of his life. I''ll use his life as an offering to my brother''s spirit!"
But the moment he pulled the trigger, he felt a brutal force from behind grab his arm and wrench it sharply toward the sky.
Bang! Bang!
Two gunshots rang out into the dark expanse above.
In the nick of time, Hans, who had been silently lying in wait, lunged forward and wrestled the gun away in a surprise attack.
This was the strategy they had nned from the start, and it was executed wlessly.
Consumed by rage and driven by sheer desperation,n fought back against Hans. He began firing wildly, and one of the stray bullets struck the iron chain suspending Chasel.
"Don''t worry about me! You have to kill him... kill him!"
Chasel screamed hysterically, tears of blood streaking his face. His voice was utterly shattered. "Cassius lost an eye because of him. He has to pay with his life!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
A flurry of gunshots echoed out, making Elvis''s scalp tingle and his heart pound frantically from below.
It was agonizing that he couldn''t go up and help. What if Chasel suddenly plummeted? With no one on the ground to catch him, the risk was simply too high.
But he was terrified that something might happen to Thaddeus and Hans.
One was Evadne''s pir of strength, and the other was his long-lost biological brother who had only just reunited with their family.
They were both irreceable.
He couldn''t bear to lose either of them.
Bang!
"Ugh!"
A bullet tore inton''s shoulder. He let out a pained groan, cold sweat pouring down his face.
With Thaddeus in front of him and Hans behind him, he was cornered at the end of the road, past the point of no return.
"Surrender,n."
Thaddeus made onest attempt to talk him down "Stop being so
stubborn Even if you walk out
hove today, if you fail this
Chad will never let you go."
"Heh... Who says... I can''t finish the mission Sir gave me?"
"I want you... to watch helplessly as Chasel dies right in front of you. I want you to
feel the agony of losing a friend, a family member, a lover!"
As thest word left his lips, he smashed his thumb down on the red button.
The jarring grind of chains erupted once more, and Chasel''s body went into a terrifying freefall, no different from diving off a skyscraper.
"Get the remote!" Cassius screamed hoarsely, his face covered in blood.
Thaddeus''s eyes snapped wide. Just as he lunged to snatch it,n let out an evil cackle, winding up his arm to hurl the device as far as he could.
In a split second of crisis, Hans vaulted upwards, pushing off the railing for leverage, soaring into the air to grab the remote as it zipped over his head.
But he was just a fraction of an inch short.
Acting on pure instinct, Hans tapped the edge of the remote with his fingertips at the veryst second, smacking it away.
"Elvis! Catch!"
Elvis leaped high into the air, snatching the remote with lethal precision.
Watching the ground rush up to meet him, Chasel closed his eyes, tears slipping down his cheeks.
Cassius, Thaddeus, Evadne...
Goodbye.
"Go to hell, all of you!"
Panting heavily and radiating murderous intent,n whipped a dagger from his lower back, marshaling every ounce of his
strength to dive it stofne
into
Thaddeus''s chest.
