"And what if he doesn''t?!" Frederic shot back, his frustration mounting.
"What kind of father curses his own son?! Frederic, listen to yourself!" Hamilton trembled with rage. "Even if Thaddeus doesn''t wake up right away, you''re the chairman. You can take over his duties. I can make the final call on the A5 Project. There is no reason to rece him at a time like this! If he wakes up and finds out what you''ve done, how betrayed do you think he''ll feel?"
Frederic''s face flushed with shame, and he sighed in frustration.<fna98e> Th?s chapter is updated by find(?)ovel</fna98e>
"Grandfather, please calm down," Chad interjected smoothly, his smile gentle. "You''ve misunderstood Father, and you''ve misunderstood me. I have never had any intention of recing Thaddeus. I''m a half-cripple; I''m just grateful to be alive. I don''t dare to hope for more. In my opinion, no one is more suited for the role of CEO than Thaddeus. Please don''t upset yourself over this."
Hamilton stared at Chad''s unwavering smile, and a chilling image shed in his mind: a young boy holding a bloody cleaver, a sinister grin on his face. A sharp painnced through his chest, and he swayed. Chad caught him just in time. "Grandfather, be careful!"
Struggling to catch his breath, Hamilton gripped Chad''s ice-cold hand, his voice trembling with an almost pleading tone. "Chad... you won''t hurt Thaddeus, will you? That boy lost his mother so young and has suffered so much. He''s given everything for this family. Please, have somepassion for him. Don''t make things difficult for your old grandfather, will you?”
Chad''s smile widened, but his eyes were filled with a chilling emptiness. "Grandfather, you seem to forget. I lost my mother at a young age, too."
Hamilton''s breath caught in his throat.
"But please, rest assured," Chad continued, cing his cold hand over the old man''s, stroking it gently. "What belongs to Thaddeus, no one can take away. Not even me."

After escaping the hospital, Evadne breathed a sigh of relief. She would have been a fool to walk right up to Alexia. Her goal tonight had been reconnaissance, and she had seeded, capturing footage of everything she''s seen inside. Now she could analyze it carefully.
Just as she was about to leave, she saw Alexia, her face a cold mask, step out of
an elevator and head down the opposite corridor. Holding her breath, Evadne silently followed.
"Sir, it''s done," Alexia said, lighting a cigarette and taking a long, satisfying drag.
Evadne watched the woman''s
sensual posture, so at odds with her clinical white coat, and her gaze
gaffoned the person behind Alexa the person behind Avery-they both reported to "Sir." That meant Sir was almost certainly Chad.
"Don''t worry, I''m watching him. He''ll never get the chance to speak again," Alexia said with a smug tone.
Evadne''s fingers dug into the wall as a cold fury shed in her eyes. If Chad had ordered Alexia to move John, what was his real objective?
After finishing her call, Alexia dropped the cigarette butt and turned to leave. A sudden idea struck Evadne. She deliberately
called out toward the woman''s retreating back, "Acacia!"

The hallway behind her was empty.
