His Ex wife is a billionaire Chapter 527

“What the fuck? That scumbag is out?”

Evadne bolted upright from Thaddeus’s embrace, her roar nearly giving poor Alva, who was baking pies in the kitchen, a heart attack!

    Thaddeus’s handsome face darkened.

He was so close to her that he heard every word Aaron had said, crystal clear.

“No way Avery is ruthless, always goes for the kill, never leaves loose ends. How did Byron get bailed out? Is there something wrong with the evidence? Evadne felt her blood go from boiling to ice–cold, her shoulders shaking with rage.

Thaddeus rose silently, his warm, rge hand wrapping around her waist, offering her a silentfort through his touch. “The evidence was solid. If it hadn’t been, the precinct wouldn’t have issued an arrest warrant for Byron.”

Aaron’s voice was hoarse with anger and frustration. “But now, those girls who were supposed to testify against Byron have changed their tune like they got their stories straight in private! They im they weren’t raped by Byron, that they were involved with him of their own free will. Even the two underage girls!”

*Free will? How is that possible? If it was consensual, why didn’t they say so from the start?”

Evadne was beside herself with fury. “Aaron! There’s got to be something fishy going on. You guys have to dig deeper!”

“Of course, there’s something fishy. We all know it. I even sent several seasoned female negotiators to talk to them, but it was no use. They decided not to press charges” Aaron sighed, the sound heavy with helplessness

“Mr. Abernathy, Mrs. Abernathy, the news is out!” Gordon waved his phone frantically

“y it,” Thaddeusmanded, his voice deep and authoritative

They watched the video, the scene was right outside the police station, and the man answering the reporters‘ questions was Matthew.

“Damn it, those reporters are so nosy!

Gordon clenched his jaw as he watched Matthew’s hypocritical performance, “As a CEO, he is doing nothing but cleaning up messes for the Chambers Group!”

Evadne and Thaddeus watched the screen intently, their hands gripping each other tightly

Facing the reporters, Matthew was indignant, “Ladies and gentlemen, as you can see, if my brother were truly a rapist, we would not have secured his release. It’s clear my brother has been framed, a victim of someone’s scheme to tarnish and entrap the Chambers family! I will get to the bottom of this and will not let my brother suffer this nder”

“Get to the bottom of it? More like empty talk!” Gordon muttered bitterly, almost rhyming.

    Thaddeus’s

“He has to say that. The stage is set, and the show must go on, Evadne ground her teeth, her fingertips digging into Th hand, oblivious to the pain she was causing.

Though it stung. Thaddeus didn’t mind.

His chest was filled withpassion for her. How he wished to give her a peaceful life, but it seemed every time they found at moment of calm, reality would p them hard in the face

“Mr. Chambers, among the girls Mr. Byron has been involved with, there are two who are minors.”

The reporter was relentless, his tone filled with usation, “Even if they don’t press charges against Mr. Byron, his involvement with minors is highly inappropriate and immoral! He should be strongly condemned by society!”

“Those girls dressed provocatively, looking mature beyond their years, and they deliberately hid their age to get close to my brother, nearlynding him in serious legal trouble. Who’s really being immoral here?”

Matthew sneered, “Besides, my brother had no idea they were underage, or else why would he do something to ruin his future? The Chambers Group is a family of high standing, worth billions. I can understand the desperation of some girls with ulterior motives trying to break into high society, but what about their guardians? Shouldn’t they bear some responsibility for their failure in upbringing? Why should we foot the bill for their negligence?”

“Damn it! Matthew’s twisting the narrative, deflecting the issue!” Evadne seethed with hatred.

Another reporter asked, “Mr. Chambers, when Mr. Byron was arrestedst time, he exhibited outrageous behavior that’s still circting in videos online. That’s clearly the behavior of someone on drugs. What do you have to say about that?”

“My brother wasn’t on drugs. It was due to prescription medication.

Matthew put on a pained expression, “My brother had a serious car ident before, almost ended up in a vegetative state. Even now, his leg pain res up so badly on rainy days that he has to take strong medication to manage it, out of necessity. At the time, thank goodness for Miss Evadne, who performed amputation surgery on him, saving his right leg and allowing him to maintain a semnce of a normal life. Our entire Chambers family is grateful to Ms. Evadne. Without her, my brother would be half–dead.”

The crowd erupted in murmurs and spection!

Miss Evadne, known for her remarkable surgical skills, capable of what seemed like miracles, had be the talk of the town, but not for the reasons one would expect..

Most shocking of all was the revtion that the esteemed Evadne, hailed as an “angel” and a “beacon of justice,” had operated on Byron, a man of ill-repute.

Being a billionaire heiress, she had no need for fame or fortune, nor would she act against her will under duress

Therefore, her decision to perform surgery on Byron could only have been voluntary!

Could it be that Evadne’s shining image was all a facade, and that she was just as wed behind closed doors?
