His Ex wife is a billionaire Chapter 283

    Chapter 283

Hamilton was insistent, holding Thaddeus by the left hand and Evadne by the right, refusing to let go.

Hamilton not only kept a firm grip but also kept rambling on, criticizing Frederic and then Elspeth, never repeating himself. Evadne was worried that he might tire himself out

After criticizing the couple, Hamilton started to dote on Thaddeus, calling his name affectionately and casually cing Thaddeus and Evadne’s hands together. Thaddeus couldn’t help but smile warmly at Evadne

Evadne was not unaware of his gaze, she pursed her l*ps and chose to ignore him.

Seeing her indifference, Thaddeus could not help but grasp her hand.

Suddenly, her hand sl*pped out of his!

He looked up, just in time to meet Evadne’s slightly annoyed gaze.

She red at him, her expression fierce as if she was ready to tear him apart.

Alright, he failed to hold her hand.

But tonight, her mere presence was enough for him. He didn’t dare to ask for more.

“Thaddeus, you should be really grateful to na tonight. If she hadn’t cared about you and informed me about Frederic’s punishment, I wouldn’t have been able to rush over so quickly!”

Hamilton said with a meaningful tone, winking at Thaddeus, “See, na really cares about you. You should thank her for saving your life!”

“Evadne, thank you.” Thaddeus said softly, his eyes gentle.

Evadne felt a shiver from his gaze, she chuckled, “Mr. Thaddeus, you should be thanking Mari instead.”

“Mari?” Grandpa and Thaddeus were both taken aback.

“Yes, it was Mari who called me and told me everything. That’s how I knew to tell your grandpa.”

Evadne’s gaze turned cold again, “It was nothing, Mr. Thaddeus, don’t think too much about it.”

“If you told Granpa about this, it means you care about me, at least a little bit.” Thaddeus didn’t mind her denial, he was too persistent.

Evadne gave a sarcastic smile, “Think whatever you like.”

“Ah, so that’s how it was.”

Hamilton couldn’t help but sigh. “My granddaughter’s so kind–hearted and virtuous. Although she wasn’t raised by me, she was not spoiled by that wicked Elspeth. Whereas Glynnis, was spoiled by my naive son and learned nothing good from her superficially decent but actually vile mother, even almostnding herself in jail. I hardly have any hair left to turn white for her!”

“Mari is a good girl. When I was living with the Abernathy family, she was always the closest to me, always kind to me.”

Evadne thought of Mari and the three years she spent with Thaddeus, her heart ached faintly, but she looked nonchnt, “I guess if it wasn’t for Mari’spanionship in the Abernathy family, I wouldn’t havested that long.”

Hamilton caught the unspoken words in her statement, he felt sorry for Evadne and gave Thaddeus a stern look.

Thaddeus‘ heart sank, filled with remorse and pain.

“Grandpa, there’s something I want to discuss with you. I’m not sure if it’s appropriate, if it’s not, please pretend I never mentioned it.” Evadne hesitated. “Don’t worry, whatever you say won’t be inappropriate.” Thaddeus quickly assured.

Evadne rolled her eyes at him, annoyed.

“Go ahead, na! I trust that you’ve thought it through.” Hamilton said kindly.

“Grandpa, I hope you can bring Mari to live with you.” Evadne had always considered Hamilton as her real grandfather, so she didn’t hesitate.

    “I agree.” Thaddeus said.

“I didn’t ask you!” Evadne retorted.

Thaddeus gave a small smile, “It doesn’t matter, I support your idea whether you ask me or not.”

Evadne red at him, grinding her teeth.

She really wanted to jump out of the car, who could understand her!

“na, did something happen to Mari?” Hamilton asked worriedly.

“Mari has autism, Mr. and Mrs. Abernathy are too busy with work and managing their home and business to properly care for her. This isn’t good for Mari’s condition. So, I hope Mari cane and live with you. That way, you won’t be too lonely, and Mari will have a grandfather by her side, which will be beneficial for her. With your own granddaughter by your side, I can rest easy.”

Evadne didn’t mention Glynnis‘ bullying, focusing on the benefits for both Mari and Hamilton.

The most important thing now was to get Mari away from Glynnis. As long as that could be achieved, everything else could wait.

Besides, it wasn’t her ce to meddle in other people’s family affairs.

“na, you’re so thoughtful! Ah, this is my fault. As Mari’s grandfather, I neglected my granddaughter. It’s my fault.”

Hamilton looked guilty and he gently patted Evadne’s hand, “I understand your concerns, my dear. Tomorrow morning, I’ll ask Mr. Murray to go to Windermere Estate and bring Mari here.”

At Windermere Estate, the atmosphere was extremely tense.

In this whole fiasco of trying to discipline his son, Frederic didn’t establish any paternal authority. Instead, he ended up getting a lecture from his own father right in front of the entire Abernathy n. His dignity as head of the family was practically in shambles.

After the incident, Frederic simply changed clothes and left the house. He needed some fresh air to ease his frustration and made it clear he wouldn’t be home tonight.

Elspeth was left alone in her room, sulking like a jilted bride. She thought of the affection she had practically begged for, which hadn’t evensted twenty–four hours before it was gone.

Her eyes were burning with hatred, for the old man, and even more for Evadne.

“That damned old man deserves to die! Evadne! You will have a miserable end!”

Elspeth kept muttering under her breath, getting angrier by the minute, shaking like a mental patient who had missed her sedative.

At that moment, a knock sounded on the door.

“Who is it? Didn’t I say I don’t want to be disturbed?” Elspeth yelled.

“Ma’am. Would you like toe downstairs?” The maid asked timidly from the other side of the door.

    “What now?”

“Miss Glynnis hit Miss Mari, and no one dares to stop them. Would you like toe down and take a look?”
