Chapter 46

"What''s wrong? Is there an issue?" Andy asked with concern, noticing my puzzled expression.

I shook my head, choosing not to respond, and simply gestured for her to leave. Zion turned to me as I stepped out, his eyes filled with suspicion.

"What were you two discussing behind my back? Why did it take so long? What were you really talking about?" he questioned.

After hearing the words "behind my back", I couldn''t help but shake my head in exasperation. This guy was impossible; he clearly had a one-track mind.

I nced at the file I was holding. It was quite substantial, but I still didn''t understand why Andy felt so confident in handing it over to me. Didn''t she worry about any repercussions?

"Could I get a few different colored pens? Selena and I will need themter," I said.

Ultimately, this document belonged to Selena''spany, and even though I wanted to help, I couldn''t shoulder this burden alone. I needed to coborate with her on this.

Noticing Zion''s expression, I understood his concerns. "Don''t worry, I''ll take the file back to Selena and we''ll review it together. I won''t leak any of yourpany''s secrets. There''s no need to be stingy with a few pens."

He scoffed, looking at me with a warning re. "Hudson, I''m warning you stay close to Selena during her treatment. Don''t even think about running away. I''ve told you before that I''ll let you go once Selena recovers. I keep my promises, so I hope you do too."

I didn''t know why he insisted on saying such nonsensical things-maybe it was jealousy, or perhaps he just enjoyed trying to intimidate me. Either way, I was used to it by now.

I managed to tune out his words and walked past him, heading straight to the room. Selena was already awake, sitting quietly and watching a movie. She looked bored and barely moved. When she saw me, she made some space for me and patted the spot next to her, inviting me to sit.

I opened my bag and took out the contract documents, handing them to her.

"What''s this?" Selena asked, her expression one of confusion as she epted the papers. She flipped through them briefly before closing them again, turning to me with surprise in her eyes.

"How did the acquisition n from Titan Group end up in your hands?"

It was clear this project was significant; I could hear the angerced in her voice.

"One of your subordinates, a woman named Andy, brought it to you. She insisted you review it personally, but Zion wouldn''t let her, so I offered to bring it to you.

"We can go over it together. If everything looks good, she''lle by the hospital to pick it up the day after tomorrow," I exined calmly.

She looked at me for a moment without saying anything, then resumed reading the document. After flipping through a few pages, she closed it again, scratching her head and frowning. She was clearly a bit irritated.

But it was normal to feel stressed about work; after all, being at the office was rarely enjoyable.

She turned to me and tossed the file back, then rang the bell next to the bed.

When the bell rang, the door opened quickly, and she looked at the two people standing there, saying coldly, "Tell Zion to go to the office and bring me myputer. I need to take care of somepany files. I want myputer within half an hour, or you can all consider yourselves fired."
