Lemira had been plotting her move against the Langstons for a while.
She turned to him and said, "Of course."
"Whatever you need, just ask."
"I need you by my side, supporting me. Even if I have to do some shady things to take down the Langstons, I need you to always stand by me."
Lemira''s gaze carried a hint of uncertainty.
But he just flicked her forehead and said, "Of course. If you decide to go rogue, I''ll be your lookout."
Lemira''s lips curled into a slight smile. "It won''te to that. I''m aw-abiding citizen, after all."
After their workout, they shared a dinner together.
Orion dropped her back at college, parking by the curb, he pondered for a
moment before speaking, "I''ve got a business trip in a few days. I''ll try to make it back in time for your press conference."
"Don''t worry about it. Your work is important. The PR team has the press conference under control. They''re pros."
Lemira hadn''t nned on having Orion by her side for everything.
Dealing with the Langstons was something she felt she should do on her own.
After watching Lemira enter the college, Orion finally dialed Thaddeus, "Lemira''s hosting a press conference in a few days. If I can''t make it back in time, keep an eye out for her, will you?"
"Sure, no problem. But making Matthew publicly clear up that engagement rumor with Ms. Sinir, aren''t you worried about offending the Sinirs?"
"I''ve given the Sinirs face for years. It''s their loss if they don''t appreciate it."
Orion had never acknowledged an engagement with Sophia Sinir, despite giving the Sinir family opportunities to rify things, which they never took.
So now, if he had to set the record straight himself, so be it.
After ending the call with Thaddeus, once Lemira messaged him she was back in her dorm, Orion concluded the conversation.
Upon receiving a quirky emoji from Orion, Lemira finally put down her phone.
Noticing the bathroom was upied, she nced at Janice, "New roommate?" "Yeah, but she''s a bit special."
Before Janice could borate, the girl from the restroom emerged.
Lemira then realized just how ''special'' Janice meant.
The new roommate had a limp, though she tried to slow her pace, it was still noticeable.
Lemira briefly caught her eye before introducing herself, "Hi, I''m Lemira."
"Hi," came the cool response, without a self-introduction, quite aloof.
Lemira didn''t mind too much.
Janice texted her, [She''s not from our department, seems like a journalism student. The dorm keeper asked us to look out for her.
But she doesn''t seem to like talking much.]
Lemira replied, [Alright, we''ll help if we can.]
The next day, Lemira and Janice went to ss without the new roommate, who
hadn''t woken up yet.
After ss, Lemira received a notice
from the college, "Lemira, the
Sinir family will resume thei
sponsorship of the team. Please
arrange a meeting." fo
"Professor, we already have a sponsor. We don''t need the Sinir''s sponsorship."
"Lemira, the Sinir family has been a sponsor for many years. It would be rude
to reject them outright. Please handle it."
The professor hung up without giving Lemira a chance to refuse, leaving her slightly uneasy.
She hoped it was as Ms. Sinir said, just a simple sponsorship.
As Lemira was leaving the ssroom, she saw Evelina rushing in, tears streaming down her face, grabbing her hand, "Lemmy, Lucian''s not doing well. Hisst wish is to see you onest time. Please,e to the hospital!"
