Chapter 412

She was grateful for Jessica standing up for her, but she couldn''t let him get into trouble because of her.

With a light smile, she began, "Sure, all of that happened, but none of it has anything to do with me and Caspian. He''s always been pretty good to me."

After hearing this, Caspian''s smile grew wider, and he leaned in to whisper, "That''s my girl."

After interacting with his fans for a while, Caspian finally wrapped up the meet- and-greet and slipped away from the venue.

As soon as Caspian left, his fans dispersed too.

Susanna hurried off to follow her celebrity crush, while Evelina couldn''t hide her envy at Lemira, surprised that Caspian actually showed up to boost Lemira''s poprity.

That wasn''t supposed to happen. She had already tried to sow discord between Caspian and Lemira at the party.

Evelina felt something was off. She was determined to confront Caspian for rification.

Once the crowd had left, Lemira approached Jessica, "What brings you here?"

"I was at the finals too. Then I heard you became the captain of the Orvin University Team, and I just had toe check on you. Didn''t expect to walk into that scene, but I had to speak up for you."

"Why didn''t you text me you wereing?"

Jessica blushed a little, "I felt a bit awkward."

After all, their paths hadn''t crossed much in high school, though they had be closer since then.

Jessica felt guilty for having contributed to isting Lemira back in the day, which made her hesitant to reach out.

"It''s fine, let me introduce you to our team. You mentioned wanting to visit the Orvin University Team, remember?"

Seeing an old ssmate lifted Lemira''s spirits.

Yet, Jessica was concerned, "What''s with Caspian? Why is he trying to guilt-trip you now?"

She had seen how Caspian treated Lemira, even getting physical with her at the school infirmary. He didn''t seem like a good person at all.

Lemira''s smile faded, "He likes ying the good guy in public, probably to gloss over the bruise I gave him."

    "Did you hit him?"

    Lemira nodded, "Yes."

Jessica couldn''t help butugh, "Good for you!"

After showing Jessica around and introducing her to Janice and a senior, Lemira thought it would be nice to treat everyone to dinner.

As they were leaving the campus after practice, Lemira noticed a limousine parked by the roadside.

She paused, pretending not to see it.

But then her phone rang. It was Caspian.

She knew ignoring his call would only lead to more trouble, so she stepped aside

    to answer, "What''s up?"

"Get in the car. We need to talk."

"I''ve got dinner ns with a friend. Whatever you have to say, say it here."

Caspian''s voice wasced with impatience, "I''m telling you onest time to get in, unless you want your friends to run into trouble."

Lemira clenched her phone tightly, ncing at the limousine.

In the end, she asked Janice and the senior to take Jessica to the restaurant first, promising to follow shortly.

Lemira then made her way to the car.

Inside, besides Caspian, Evelina was also present, her head hanging low as if

    she had been crying.

Caspian patted the seat next to him, "Lemira,e sit."

Lemira remained standing, "What do you want?"

"I know I was harsh at the party yesterday, and I wronged you. Evelina misled me, you see?"

Lemira was puzzled by Caspian''s intentions.

Caspian nced at Evelina, "Come on, apologize to Lemira."

Reluctantly, Evelina stood up, "Caspian, I was just thinking about Asher and Lucian''s project. Ah!"

Caspian''s hand flew up, striking Evelina across the face with a force that left her cheek rapidly swelling.
