**Thank you so much, Ava. You saved me today. Otherwise, your boyfriend will kill

    me.

    Ava chuckled at Robin''s words.

"Robin, I thought you were brave. That''s why we became friends, remember?

He rubbed his forehead and muttered,

"Yeah, but I heard he beat Lukest time, and the fight anted for you."

Ava realized that he was talking about the fight Luke had withn aftern rejected her as his mate.

"My boyfriend is not that bad. Why would he beat you for nothing? You all are destroying my man''s reputation," she said, shaking her head."

She remembered how softn was with her. She wondered if everyone had ever seen his that side, they would have never called him a bad boy.

After talking to Robin for a while, Ava took a cab instead of calling her driver toe to pick her up.

On the way, she thought about the phone call withn. She bit her bottom lip, thinking the reason whyn sounded first.

    "Is he okay?"

She closed her eyes, leaning her head back against the back seat of the cab. She could not help but wonder what might happen that would ruin Jan''s mood. ''Did he have a verbal fight with his dad?''

''Did you have a hard day?''

As the cab was getting closer to her house, she sat straight, gazing at the window.

She frowned when she noticed a familiar car standing outside her house. "Stop the car," she said to the cab driver.

The driver abruptly stopped the cab. She paid the cab driver and got out of the cab.

As soon as she turned around to look at the familiar car, her eyes fell on the boy leaning against the car.

    n?"

    She mumbled, looking at him.

While leaning against his car,n was smoking a cigarette.

Ava nced at the front door of her house; it was closed. She started to move towardn''s car.

It did not look like he noticed her. Or it was just her assumption.

    n? You are here!"

    She said while approaching him.

She stopped in front of him. He was not looking at her. His eyes were on the ground as he asked,

"Who was with you in the coffee shop?"

Ava was stunned by his question.

"I told you I was with my friend."

He grabbed her hand and turned her to press her against his car.

She was stunned by his action. She stared at him with shocked eye

His eyes were cold; however, as soon as they met hers, the darkness around them began to fade.

He released her hand and moved it to her cheek.

"Baby, I don''t want to doubt you."

Ava let out a deep breath and thought for a moment. She trusted him. He would not do anything to Robin.

In fact, if she still lied to him, it could cause a misunderstanding between them for

    no reason.

She lifted her handsend ced them on his shoulders.

"I was with Robin. He is my friend. He was afraid that you would get mad at him,

so he was telling me not to say his name. That''s it,n."

Her voice was soft like honey ton''s ears.

His heart rxed hearing her answer. His eyes were fixed on hers, not wanting to move at all.

The eye contact broke whenn hissed. He moved a little back and threw the cigarette bud. He was so engrossed in looking at her that he forgot about his cigarette. It burned his finger.

Ava immediately grabbed his hand and pulled his finger close to her face to check on it.

When she saw his finger swollen, she immediately put it in her mouth to stop the burning.

    desire of his beast inside.

She let go of his finger and looked at it.

"Why do you smoke? See what has it done to your finger?" she scolded him in a low tone.

Because the moment their gaze met, he grabbed her arm and opened the front passenger door. He pushed her inside and closed the door, then went to the driver seat.

Ava was taken aback. But she did not refuse anything. She watched him start the

    car.

As Ava saw the car driving out of her house area, she turned to him.

    "Where are we going?"

"I don''t know," he murmured, speeding the car.

She gulped, not knowing what was on his mind. Her eyes fell on his finger.

    She was concerned for him.

"Ian," she said in a soft tone.

The next moment, the car turned left and stopped abruptly.

Ava realized that he had parked the car to the side on an empty road.

She turned ton. He sat in silence on his seat.

She remembered what Robin had said to her aboutn''s past.

fan''s possessiveness toward her made sense to her. He had a fear that she would

go with another boy, just like the little girl in his childhood.

She slowly unfastened her seatbelt and took a deep breath.

    n?"

The way she called his name made him look at her.

Ava moved closer to him and kissed his cheek.

"I know you love me. I love you, too. Don''t worry about anything. I will never leave

you. No matter who is in front of me, I will always choose you."

    her onto hisp.

Ava gasped when she found herself sitting on hisp.

She blushed and lowered her head.

"Didn''t I tell you that one day I won''t let you go?" he muttered.

She recalled his words and nced at him.

    n, l-mmnnn"

He smashed his lips on hers, not letting her say anything else.
