Cameron said openly, "Congrattions. You got what you wanted."
Bradley dipped his head and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.
Lance teased, "Brad, I don''t think kissing the bride-to-be is part of the engagement ceremony."
Bradley replied with a straight face, "Just iming my privileges in advance."
Everyone burst intoughter. They gave their blessing to their love.
After the engagement party, Cami pulled Cameron aside.
Cami looked mysterious. "Cam, I''ve got an engagement gift for you and Brad."
Cameron, with her perfectly done makeup, smiled, "Thanks, that''s really
thoughtful of you."
Cami winked yfully. "Cam, can you guess what it is?"
Cameron chuckled, "That''s a tough one."
Today, Cameron and Bradley were officially engaged, and everyone in the Saunders family, including Osborne''s three kids, who were still in kindergarten, had carefully prepared gifts for them.
They''d all checked in with each other to make sure no two gifts were the same. The presents were a dazzling array.
Cameron honestly had no clue what Cami might have picked out for her.
Cami wasn''t really expecting her to guess. She grinned and held out her palm to Cameron-resting in it was a small, dark brown ss
bottle.
The bottle was tiny, about two fingers tall, andpletely unmarked. There was no way to tell what was inside.
"What''s this?" Cameron pinched the bottle between her fingers.
"Careful, Cam," Cami said quickly, cupping her hands under Cameron''s, worried the bottle might slip.
Cameron tightened her hold on the bottle and asked again, "Cami, what is this?"
Once Cameron had a firm hold on the bottle, Cami finally rxed. Cami grinned and said, "Cam, let me ask you something first."
Cameron nodded.
"How many kids are you and Brad nning to have?" Cami asked.
Cameron was caught off guard by that question. She shook her head. "Honestly, I haven''t really thought about it."
Cami said, "Well, think about it now."
Cameron thought for a few seconds. "I''m not really into kids, but I don''t dislike
them either. I''ve heard raising a kid is a huge hassle, so I think just having one would be enough."
"One," Cami nodded. "So, do you want a boy or a girl?"
Cameron replied, "It''s not like I can just pick. That''s up to fate."
Cami raised an eyebrow. "Whatever you want, I can make it happen."
"IVF?" Cameron shook her head. "That''s not necessary."
Carni smiled and nodded at the bottle in Cameron''s hand. "No need for IVF, Cam. Just drink what''s in that bottle, and you''ll get exactly what you want-boy or
girl.
"And if you want more than one kid, you can even pick how many-triplets, quadruplets, sextuplets, septuplets, whatever you like!"
Cami had already called dibs on twins for herself. Evan had imed the quintuplets. As for octuplets, those were saved for Jade''s little
brother.
Cameron stared at Cami in surprise. She turned the bottle over in her palm. "Did you invent this?"
''That''s amazing, Cameron thought.
Cami shook her head. "A friend gave it to me.".
Cameron was silent for a long moment. She believed what Cami was saying.
After all, Cameron had time-traveled once and then spent over a thousand years world-hopping. If that could happen, then nothing seemed too far-fetched.
But in the real world, this felt like something out of a fantasy. It was just too strange.
''Wait a second?'' Cameron thought. Suddenly, something urred to her, and she asked Cami, “I heard you cured the world''s first case of ALS. How did you pull that off?"
Cami replied, "Cam, why are you asking about that all of a sudden?"
''Shouldn''t she be more curious about the medicine in her hand?'' Cami wondered.
Cameron asked cautiously, "Cami, you''re not from this world, are you?"
