With peopleing and going in the lobby, Britney didn''t want to embarrass
Gavin in front of everyone, Britney took the roses. Thank you" —
Gavin''s lips curled into a faint smile. "Mind if I steal you for a few minutes?"
Britney nced down at the roses in her arms. "Give me a second."
Gavin nodded. "Sure."
Britney carried the roses over to the front desk.
"Ms. Watson, your boyfriend is so handsome," the girl at the front desk said
enviously.
Britney just smiled and didn''t exin, setting the flowers down. As usual, she led
Gavin to the small conference room.
Britney thought to herself, ''Even if Gavin came all the way to the hotel, I still have
to say no to him.''
But before she could get the words out, Gavin beat her to it.
"My name is Gavin. My parents gave me this name because they hoped I''d live a
bright and splendid life," he exined.
"There are seven people in my family, my parents, my brother and his wife, my
little sister, and her boyfriend. You''ve met everyone," he
continued.
Gavin pulled out his documents from his briefcase andid them out in front of
Britney one by one.
"I''m thirty-four years old. I started kindergarten at three, and graduated from
Wholeford Business School with a master''s degree when I was twenty-four,"
Gavin said,ying out his credentials.
"Right now, I''m the CEO of the Yates Group. As for sry, well, since it''s a family
billion dors, and I basically have free rein over it all," he continued.
"Gavin?" Britney''s jaw dropped a little more with every word he said, her face full
of shock. She couldn''t help but interrupt him, "W-Why are you telling me all this?"
He had even brought his ID, diploma, and somepany documents, ying
them all out in front of her.
Britney found herself clenching her hands without even realizing it.
Gavin looked at her calmly. "Didn''t you say we didn''t know each other well
enough? I''mying everything out for you now. Ask me anything you want, and I
won''t hold anything back."
Britney could only stare at him, speechless. She''d just said that casuallyst
night. No wonder he''d just said okayst night..
Gavin pushed a financial report toward Britney. This is our revenue fromst year.
Take a look."
"No." Britney hurriedly waved her hands.
''Isn''t apany''s financial report supposed to be confidential? How could
someone like me, an outsider, be allowed to see this?'' she thought, feeling
uneasy.
Gavin looked straight into her beautiful eyes. "Ms. Watson, if we get married,
you''d get a share of the profits, too."
Britney was at a loss for words.

Gavin said casually, "By the way, I''ve never dated anyone before."
Britney stared at him in surprise. ''No rtionship experience?'' she echoed in her
mind. At his age, and with how outstanding he is he an dated anyone?''
"Is there anything else you want to know?" Gavin asked.
To Britney, it almost sounded like he was saying, ''Is there anything left you can
use to reject me?'' she thought to herself.
Gavin''s actions seemed perfectly polite, but there was an invisible, almost
domineering edge to them. He locked his gaze on Britney, not taking his eyes off
her for a second.
Britney felt the pressure mounting. She said quietly, "Gavin, I didn''t really mean
what I saidst night."
Gavin nodded gently. "Then what''s the real reason you''re saying no to me?"
Britney sighed, "It just feels too fast."
That night at the Yates Manor, she''d just acted on a whim. But now, she''d calmed
down.
Britney had just been betrayed by both her best friend and her boyfriend, and it
was hard for her to jump into a new rtionship so soon.
"Too fast?" Gavin repeated the word, rolling it over in his mouth. "Then, how long
do you think would be right?"
Britney shook her head gently. She didn''t know. Honestly, she didn''t want to get
into a new rtionship right now. But Gavin really was a
great guy.
Gavin said, "Then from this moment on, I''m going to pursue you until you finally
say yes."
