Milena''s fingers curled up nervously. Though panic was swirling inside her, she forced herself to look calm.
''I didn''t leave any loose ends. Even if the police show up, they won''t find any evidence. There''s no need to panic, Milena tried to reassure
herself inwardly.
"Who''s Milena Wace?" one of the officers asked, shing his badge at Cameron and Milena before his gaze swept over them.
Milena instinctively took a step back.
But Cameron stepped forward. "Officer, I''m the one who called. She''s Milena. I suspect she orchestrated the car ident at the highway intersectionst night."
The two officers immediately turned their attention to Milena.
Milena took another step or two back. "It wasn''t me. I swear, it wasn''t me," she blurted out. She shook her head frantically, denying it as fast
as she could.
The officers didn''t address Milena and instead turned to Cameron. "What text messages are you talking about?"
Cameron immediately handed his phone to them.
After reading the messages, the officers remained calm and asked Milena, "Did
you send these texts?"
"No." Milena immediately denied it.

Cameron frowned. Her gaze swept quickly around the room beforending on the sofa, where two phones were lying. She rushed over and grabbed the phones.
"Cameron?" Milena yelled, lunging to grab the phones back.
''I was too careless,'' Milena thought, regret flooding her. ''I never imagined Cameron would actually track me down here.
So after sending those texts, Milena just tossed her phone aside without a second thought.
But Cameron had already tossed the phones to the officers.
Each officer caught a phone. They both turned to Milena. "Ms. Wace, what''s the password for these phones?"
Milena''s face went pale, and she stayed silent.
"Ms. Wace, please cooperate," one of the officers said.
With no other choice, Milena reluctantly gave them the password. Sure enough, the officers found the texts on her phone.
Why di
The officers pressed her, "Ms. Wace, why did you send these texts?"
Milena wasn''t about to tell the truth. Her mind raced as she scrambled for an excuse. "I-I saw the news about Bradley getting hurt, so I sent those texts just to provoke Cameron. But I swear, I had nothing to do with Bradley getting hit."
The officers exchanged a nce. They handed the phones back to Milena, said, "Sorry for the trouble," and turned to leave.
Cameron hurried after them. "Officer, that''s it? You''re just going to leave?"

The officer said, "Ma''am, these messages alone aren''t enough to prove anything. But don''t worry. We''ll do our best to find the real culprit as soon as possible."
The officers left.
Cameron frowned.
Milena was secretly overjoyed. ''Thank goodness I was careful,'' she thought. ''If I hadn''t been so cautious, I''d be getting hauled off by the cops right now,'' she told herself.
Milena''s face was practically glowing with smugness. “Cameron, I told you this had nothing to do with me. Do you believe me now?"
"Not involved?" Cameron let out a coldugh. "The police didn''t arrest you because they don''t have enough evidence, not because you''re in
the clear."
Milena just grinned, "Then by all means, go find your proof."
"Cam?" A familiar voice called out from behind Cameron. Cameron turned around and saw Cami.
Cami wasn''t the only one here. There was a whole bunch of people from the Saunders family standing behind her.
''Why did the whole Saunders family show up?'' Cameron wondered. ''Did they find out Milena was the one behind it all?''
"Who are you?" Milena tensed up instantly as she saw a whole crowd suddenly storming into her ce.
Cami gave Milena a half-smile. "You had the nerve to mess with Brad, but didn''t even look into his background?"
Milena took a step back. "Wait? The Saunders family? You''re all from the Saunders family?"
Evan folded his arms and shot Milena a cold re. "So you''re the one who sent that truck to try and kill Brad?"
