Chapter 656

Cameron returned to her room, her brows furrowed in thought.

Bradley really didn''t look like he was pretending.

''So, what on earth happened to him during those seven years?'' Cameron wondered to herself.

''And why did he suddenly vanish without a trace?''

Driven by curiosity, Cameron turned on theputer that came with her room, her fingers flying across the keyboard.

It didn''t take her long to dig up some leads.

Apparently, Bradley had suddenly filed for a transfer just before the start of the

second semester of his freshman year.

After that, he finished his studies abroad.

Once he graduated, he returned to Steerfall and set up his ownw firm.

These days, hisw firm had made a name for itself in the field, and he''d be a star attorney everyone wanted on their side.

Even if people were willing to shell out a fortune in legal fees, getting him to take their case wasn''t guaranteed.

It fit perfectly with Cameron''s first impression of him: a man who had truly made it big.

"Could it be that he got involved in some ident and ended up with amnesia? Cameron wondered.

But then she shook her head at the thought.

''Why should I even care whether Bradley remembers me or not?'' she asked herself.

"If he doesn''t remember, then whatever.''

Once upon a time, they had been good friends.

Cameron had even naively believed they could still be friends after she turned Bradley down.

But instead, he''d be possessive, locking her up and telling her she could only ever belong to him.

    It was insane.

The gentle boy she once knew had long since vanished.

She was here to clear her head and take a breather from everything. There was

no need to waste her thoughts on people who had nothing to do with her

    anymore.

The next morning, Cameron woke up early.

After freshening up, she went downstairs for breakfast.

To her surprise, there were actually people who had gotten up even earlier than she did.

    The restaurant was already packed.

Cameron had to look around for quite a while before she finally managed to snag a table to herself.

The breakfast was a buffet with a variety of options.

Cameron helped herself to a few simple dishes before sitting down.

Just as she was peeling her egg, she heard a man''s deep, slightly amused voice

from above her. "Excuse me, is this seat taken?"

There really was nowhere else to sit.

Bradley had no choice but to ask to join someone at their table.

After breakfast, he had to head back to Steerfall.

He had a court hearing in the afternoon, so he couldn''t be dyed.

Cameron looked up and spotted Bradley.

He still had on those gold-rimmed sses, looking every bit the refined and shrewd man he was.

She then said tly, "No, it''s not."

"Thanks," Bradley said, setting his coffee cup down on the table across from her.

Then he went off to grab some more food.

After a moment, Bradley came back.

He sat down across from Cameron.

Bradley savored his coffee, his eyes lingering thoughtfully on Cameron. After a brief pause, he said, "Miss Yates, I think you might have mistaken me for someone else."

Cameron had just finished her boiled egg.

She slowly stirred the soup in front of her, then lifted her gaze to meet Bradley''s eyes. "Is that so? Mr. Saunders, which high school did you attend?"

Bradley replied, "Langford Academy in Viremont."

Cameron said calmly, "Well, what a coincidence. I went there too."

Bradley raised his brows in surprise. "Seriously? Now that''s a small world. Guess we''re schoolmates."

Cameron pressed on, "Which dorm were you in back in high school?"

Bradley Saunders thought for a moment, then said, "Room 316."

Cameron said, "Another coincidence. Same here."

Bradley chuckled. "Ms. Wace, you lived in girl''s Room 316?"

That was almost too much of a coincidence.

    Cameron gave him a look.

Now she was certain. Bradley really was suffering from amnesia.

"Wait, that''s not right. Cameron thought to herself. ''He still remembered his room was 316.''

She frowned, then asked, "Mr. Saunders, fremember your dorm was kind of legendary back in school. There was Elijah Moore, and..."

"And Xander Murphy, and Austin Fraser. The four of us," Bradley finished for her.

    Cameron was stunned.

Bradley still remembered Xander and the rest of them.

But howe he didn''t remember her?

"Selective amnesia, huh?'' she scoffed inwardly.
