Lance took the ID card, and Gavin immediately leaned in for a closer look.

Lance read the details on the ID aloud. "Name, Cameron Wace. Gender, Female..."

He looked up at Cameron, still in disbelief even after seeing the ID. “Cam, you''re really a girl? So you''re my sister, not my brother?"

Cameron nodded. "Logan, just trust me. I really am a

Lance said, “But you don''t act like one at all."

Cameron said nothing. She just thought, ''So I pulled off the disguise better than I thought.''

No one ever suspected her, not even once. And whenever she told someone the truth, they would always be in total disbelief.

"You''re actually a girl!" Gavin was practically shouting, pletely lit up. "I have a sister. I finally have a sister!"

But Cameron didn''t even look his way. Their parents crowded around to check Cameron''s ID, and sure enough, the ID card confirmed her gender as

    female.

Even with proof in front of them, it was hard to wrap their heads around it. For 18 years, they thought they had another son. And now, just like that, they had a daughter.

Of course, it didn''t change how they felt about her. Boy or girl, she was their child either way. It was just wild to realize that they''d actually had a daughter all along!

Back when Jacqueline was pregnant, she and Levi had hoped for a daughter. With two boys already, it felt like the missing piece in their family.

Most parents dream of having both sons and daughters. They just never expected that dream woulde true so many yearster.

"Cam..." Jacqueline didn''t even think twice about Cameron being a clean freak anymore. She pulled her into a tight hug, heart aching at the thought of all the pain her daughter must have suffered. "You''re finally home with me.”

From now on, she was determined to make it up to Cameron and give her all the love she missed.

Cameron gently hugged her back. "Mom, I''m sorry I didn''t tell you sooner." Jacqueline shook her head, her eyes brimming with tears. "Don''t apologize, Cam. It''s me who let you down and made you suffer so much all these years..."

Cameron softly patted her back. "Mom, it''s all in the past now."

Her days with the Wace family had truly been a living hell, but that was all behind her now. And none of it was her mother''s fault, as she was a victim

    too.

Levi, on the other hand, was momentarily stunned. He couldn''t believe that he had a daughter now.

Every father secretly dreamed of having a daughter/and Levi was no exception.

He never imagined his son would turn out to be his daughter. He was so happy, he could barely think straight.

Cameron spent quite a whileforting Jacqueline before she finally calmed down.

When Cameron helped Jacqueline sit on the sofa, Levi finally snapped out of his daze. A huge smile spread across his face as he asked, "Cam, can Daddy hug you too?"

Levi would remember two moments as the happiest of his life. One was the day he married Jacqueline, and this moment right now.

He looked at Cameron, both hopeful and a little nervous.

She paused, a little surprised by Levi''s request, then nodded.

Levi''s face softened. He stepped forward and gently wrapped his arms around her, ruffling her hair as he said, "I finally have a daughter. You''re my sweet, precious girl."

He was so tender in that moment, it was almost hard to believe he was the same strict, stoic man his two sons had always known.

Cameron stayed there in his arms, leaning into the embrace. He was tall, and his cologne was subtle but calming. For the first time in a long time, she felt

    safe.

And for a moment, without meaning to, her mind drifted to Milena. She remembered how jealous she used to be of her, which hurt.
