?Chapter 3156:
By coincidence, Eric happened to be at Flynn Group that day. Over lunch with Ernest, Eric casually steered the conversation toward the subject.
“So tell me—what’s the n for your wedding?”
Was there a date in mind? A venue? Anything at all?
Ernest stopped for a beat and shook his head. “I haven’t gotten that far yet.”
“You haven’t?” Eric pushed, remembering the assignment Hadley had given him. “Then you’d better start.”
It wasn’t that Ernest hadn’t considered it before. But with Eric and Hadley’s wedding already underway, it seemed logical to let theirse first. There was another hesitation as well.
“Grandma’s health isn’t good,” he said.
Eric and Hadley’s wedding was nned in Ironspire, and making that long trip across the world would be difficult for N—dangerously so.
??e???? ??????ho???? ??n????r??????t??????? on ??а????о????l??.??????
Eric nodded; he knew the trip would be far too taxing.
“Hadley and I actually considered moving our wedding to Srixby,” Eric confessed.
But N rejected the idea outright.
They were both precious to her. She had waited a lifetime for this joy and she wanted everything to be perfect. How could she possibly ept apromise on a moment so monumental?
“Or maybe…” Eric paused, and then offered, “What if you and Elissa get married with us? A joint wedding.”
That way N would only travel once.
Since the wedding preparations took time and Ernest wouldn’t likely marry right after Eric if they did it separately, with N’s fragile health, two journeys could be more than she could bear. Or worse, her failing health might not even sustain her until Ernest and Elissa got married.
“Together?” Ernest blinked, clearly taken aback. He had never considered it. “Would that even work?”
“Why not?” Eric shrugged. “We’ll just expand the venue. Most guests ovep anyway—better to spare them an extra trip.”
Ernest remained undecided. “It’s not exactly our call.”
Eric considered that and nodded. “Fair point.”
Men didn’t usually fuss over wedding details to begin with. In many ways, the wedding was the bride’s celebration more than anyone else’s.
“I’ll talk to Hadley then,” Eric said, knowing she adored Elissa. Two best friends marrying side by side—Hadley would love it. “And you should ask Elissa.”
If this were the Elissa of the past, she likely wouldn’t have hesitated. But now, considering what she’d been through, they had to tread carefully.
“Actually…” Ernest paused. “I haven’t even proposed yet.”
“You haven’t?” Eric dismissed it with a wave. “Easy—hire a nner.”
That was exactly what he’d done for Hadley, and it had turned out wless.
“Alright,” Ernest agreed with a nod.
That night at Flynn Mansion, Eric ryed the whole discussion to Hadley.
As he expected, Hadley had no objections.
“That’s perfect,” she said with a smile. “The simpler, the better.”
But with the Flynn and Scott families involved, simplicity was little more than a dream.
Her thoughts were on N. “This way N won’t have to travel twice. If she’s fine, we’re all fine.”
Eric drew her into his arms and brushed a kiss across her cheek. “Whatever you decide.”
“But even so…” Hadley added, “Elissa has to agree too.”
Which led them right back to Ernest’s pending proposal.
“Leave it to me,” Hadley said. “You’re both busy, and N shouldn’t worry over this. I’ll take care of the nning.” She’d hire a nner and once they had some ideas, Ernest could pick one he liked.
