Chapter 3119

    ?Chapter 3119:

“Dad, Mom,” Elissa said gently. “I’m full. You two go ahead and finish—I’m going upstairs to check on Ethan.”

She slid her chair back and rose, and as she walked past Ernest, he instinctively stood and followed her in silence.

“Wait…” Savannah, anxious, began to stand.

“Savannah.” Neville stopped her, cing a steadying hand on her arm.

“Are you stopping me?” she hissed, ring at him. “Tell me how you two even walked in together.”

“I came to pick you up.” Neville merely shrugged, offering a faint smile. “He was already at the door. He just greeted me and followed me in—what was I supposed to do, shove him away?”

“And why exactly couldn’t you stop him?” she snapped.

Neville hesitated, and then chuckled. “Of course I could have. But making a scene would only attract attention.” Afterst night’s chaos, repeating it served no one. Ernest clearly wasn’t someone who would back down easily.

“Besides,” he added softly, “you saw it yourself—Elissa wanted to see him.”

Savannah fell silent. She couldn’t deny it; since she came downstairs this morning, Elissa had been quietly trying to ask about Ernest.

“Oh dear…” Savannah sighed, rubbing her forehead. What was she supposed to do now?

Neville took a sip of coffee and murmured, “Have you considered telling Elissa everything that happened between her and Mr. Flynn?”

Savannah’s head snapped up. “Tell her… everything?”

“Yes.” Neville nodded calmly. “Lay everything out for her—and let her choose for herself.”

Savannah sank into silence once more.

    It felt impossible.

Telling Elissa the truth would reopen wounds she’d already forgotten. As her mother, was she really supposed to force those memories back into her daughter’s life?

Neville added quietly, “It might be the most straightforward and effective way to make her let go.”

“It’s just…” Savannah bit her lip, frowning.

    His logic made sense, but…

“It feels cruel, doesn’t it? You can’t bring yourself to do it.” Neville watched her gently. He knew exactly what haunted her thoughts.

If Elissa were healthy, none of this would even be a debate, but she wasn’t.

With Elissa’s condition, the truth would only hurt her. And the harsh reality remained: she needed someone to lean on for the rest of her life.

They had already resigned themselves to supporting her forever—until Ernest reappeared.

Overwhelmed, Savannah closed her eyes, rubbing her temples as she exhaled heavily.

In the hallway, Ernest caught up after only a few steps and gently took Elissa’s hand.

Elissa stopped, looked up, and her lips curved into a soft smile. “You came early.”

“Yes,” Ernest murmured, nodding. “We were apart for one night, and I already missed you terribly.”

“Oh.” She puffed her cheeks yfully, the smile deepening.

They made their way to Ethan’s room, and the moment they opened the door, the baby’s wailing filled the air.

    “Wah wah wah…”

He was sobbing so hard it tugged at the heart.

The two exchanged a look and rushed in.

“Ethan!” Elissa hurried over. “Why are you crying?”

“He’s just fussy,” the nurse exined as she shifted Ethan in her arms, trying to calm him. “I changed his diaper, woke him up a little, and now he’s upset and throwing a fit.”

“Let me hold him,” Elissa said quickly, reaching out.

“Alright,” the nurse replied, handing the baby to her.

Elissa cradled him gently. “It’s okay, Ethan… don’t be upset. Mommy’s here.”
