Chapter 3113

    ?Chapter 3113:

“Okay.” Ernest nodded, his usuallyposed and striking face now tinged with an unfamiliar nervousness. He began to pace slowly across the room toward the crib.

“Keep your voice down,” Elissa whispered, a gentle caution in her tone. “Ethan just finished his milk and is about to sleep.”

“Ethan?” Ernest arched an eyebrow, curiosity flickering in his gaze. “Is that the baby’s name?”

“Yes,” Elissa said, nodding shyly, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. “I chose it. I… thought it was a good one.”

Her mother had entrusted her with the task of naming the child. Gazing at the tiny figure sleeping peacefully in the incubator, she wished her son to be healthy and strong, so she had decided on Ethan.

“It is. It’s a lovely name,” Ernest said, squeezing her hand reassuringly. “It suits him perfectly.”

The name carried a blessing—a silent wish for the child’s health and happiness. It could not have been more fitting.

    ??????t ????e??y????е ???? ??e??d??n?? ???? ??????????ve???.??о??

As they drew closer, they saw Ethan lying quietly in the crib, his eyes closed, tiny fists curled beside his head.

He was so small, so fragile.

Ernest had never truly seen a newborn before. Still, at first nce, the baby seemed almost impossibly tiny—a delicate bundle not muchrger than his outstretched hand. Were all babies this tiny, or was Ethan uniquely delicate?

Standing beside him, Savannah studied his face and whispered gently, “He’s already grown so much since the day he was born.”

Ernest blinked in surprise, ncing up at her.

“Humph,” Savannah muttered, a hint of restrained frustration in her voice. “When he was born, he was no bigger than a newborn kitten.”

Ernest struggled to picture the child back then. But he could imagine the sheer exhaustion Savannah must have endured, caring for both Elissa and Ethan.

Gratitude swelled in his chest as he turned toward her. “Mrs. Brown, thank—”

“No need,” Savannah cut him off sharply, her gaze returning to Ethan. “I didn’t do it for you.”

She had devoted herselfpletely, pouring every ounce of strength into those early days, yet the truth remained—the beginning had been a crucible of doubt.

She had wondered what would be of the baby if there was nothing to be done. But there was, and she could make it happen—her husband could, to be precise.

The choice to save the baby or not had rested on her shoulders, and she could not bring herself to deprive such a fragile yet strong little one of his chance at life.

Together with her husband, they had done what had to be done. And so, here was the baby boy, alive, thriving, a miracle before their eyes.

“Go on… take a look at your child.” Savannah stepped back and left the room, leaving the couple alone with their tiny miracle.

Ernest leaned over, his gaze gentle as he carefully observed the tiny form of Ethan.

Though small, the baby’s cheeks were adorably plump—soft, innocent features typical of a newborn. Even with his eyes closed, his long, delicate eyshes were striking.

“Ethan has big eyes,” Ernest remarked softly.

“Huh?” Elissa looked up at him, puzzled. “How do you know?”

Ernest chuckled quietly, the sound warm and steady. “Because we both have big eyes. His brother, Locke, has them too. So of course, Ethan would as well.”

His tone was calm and factual, but the revtion left Elissa momentarily shocked. “His brother? Locke?” Her eyes widened in confusion and a flicker of distress.

Ernest noticed her surprise and understood her confusion, though he didn’t quite grasp the distress she felt. “I’ve told you many times… we were together. Locke is our eldest son.”

“What?” The expression of distress on Elissa’s face melted into a deeper, more bewildered shock, tinged with helplessness.

They actually had more than one child…

“Locke, Locke…” She murmured his name, anxiety and uncertainty threading her voice.
