Chapter 3073

    ?Chapter 3073:

    “Yes,” Ernest replied without hesitation.

Emma let out a murmur. “I see…” A twinge of disappointment swept over her.

The man she had just begun to like was already spoken for.

The adage rang true—all the good ones were already taken.

“Then why are you and Elissa… like this?” she asked, puzzled. From what she observed, they might as well have been strangers.

Realization dawned the next second. “Because she’s ill.”

“Yes,” Ernest confirmed with a nod.

    I????????s?? ??om??nce ???? ???????o???????.??????

Emma’s emotions were tangled. She exhaled slowly, the weight of her thoughts pressing down on her.

“Well, Mr. Flynn… you have to keep fighting.”

For her, the small spark of affection she felt had quietly flickered out.

Ernest had crossed continents for Elissa. Clearly, no one coulde between them.

And she had no desire to try.

Life offered many feelings just as profound—friendship, loyalty, devotion.

“Well…” Emma smiled faintly, gesturing toward the door. “I should get going now.”

“Alright.” Ernest nodded politely, seeing her out.

Outside, Emma slid into her car and lowered the window. Her gaze lingered on Ernest.

Ernest noticed her stare and tilted his head slightly. “Miss Carrillo?”

“Yes?” Emma returned to reality, snapping from her daydream.

He always addressed her as Miss Carrillo, even though “Emma” was simpler. That he made no effort to use her first name hinted at his intentional distance.

    “Mr. Flynn?”

    “Yes?” he replied, curious.

“You…” Emma’s lips curved into a gentle smile. “I just want to say… You really care about Elissa, don’t you?”

    Ernest hesitated for a moment.

Were they truly close enough for a conversation like this?

Nheless, he nodded. “Yes. She’s my wife.”

“Of course!” Emmaughed lightly, waving before rolling up her window and driving off. “Goodbye!”

Ernest watched the car leave, a faint perplexity on his face.

Did Emma want to say more?

    It didn’t matter.

Since she hadn’t spoken further, he didn’t need to press. He wasn’t interested.

He simply turned, heading into the vi.

In the car, Emma chuckled softly as she watched his retreating figure through the rearview mirror.

    “Haha,” she whispered.

Could Ernest really be that unaware? From start to finish, had he not noticed her interest?

But then… Emma’s hand froze on the steering wheel. Ernest might be oblivious, but surely Elissa was even more so, right?

    And then she remembered—

She had subtly shown interest in Ernest, right in front of Elissa!

As Ernest entered, his phone buzzed.

A surveince alert: the Rolls-Royce had left the estate.

Reacting instantly, he grabbed his car keys and went after it.

Elissa had been eager to get home, and now she was leaving again. Where could she be headed?

He followed silently, intuition guiding him.

As expected, she was heading to the hospital.

Watching the Rolls-Royce enter the hospital, Ernest felt a knot of concern tighten in his chest.

He stayed in the car, waiting. But this time, she didn’t return for a long while.

Finally, he pulled out his phone and sent a message. “Elissa, are you okay?”

    No reply came.

Evening fell, the sky darkened, yet the Rolls-Royce didn’t move.

    Something was off.

Why was it taking so long this time? Had she taken another exit?

Without hesitation, he turned his car around and drove back.

The surveince cameras, too far away, hadn’t updated.

    Perhaps she had returned home.

But once back, he checked again.

    She wasn’t there.

Elissa… was she still at the hospital?
