Chapter 3063

    ?Chapter 3063:

“Already?” Elissa lifted her head, expecting to see Emma returning from the bathroom.

But instead of Emma, it was Ernest—the man who had once basically told her she wasn’t good enough for any man.

The moment Elissa’s face tightened, Ernest’s brows knit together. He spoke in a rush, his voice edged with remorse. “Elissa, I was wrong that day. I shouldn’t have said those things. I’m sorry—truly sorry.”

Elissa shook her head softly. “No need to apologize. You weren’t wrong.”

She reached into her bag, fingers brushing for her phone, intent on calling Emma.

“Looking for Miss Carrillo?” Ernest caught her intent immediately, his calm yet assertive tone stopping her. “Don’t bother. I’m the one who asked her to arrange this meeting. She’s already left.”

Elissa froze, her wide, luminous eyes widening in disbelief.

Then came the sh of anger.

She snatched up her bag, rose swiftly, and turned to leave.

“Elissa!” Ernest called, standing as well, his hand instinctively reaching out to stop her.

“Don’t touch me!” Elissa jerked her arm away, dodging his hand. In the sudden movement, the edge of her dress snagged on the metal corner of the table. The sound of tearing fabric filled the air, followed by the crash of sses and tes scattering across the floor.

A cup tumbled off the table, shattering into shards.

“What happened here?” a waiter eximed, hurrying over.

Seizing the moment, Elissa clutched her bag and bolted out the door.

    “Elissa!”

Ernest tried to follow, but the waiter blocked his way. “Sir! The broken cup—and thedy hasn’t paid yet!”

“Got it,” Ernest said, frowning as he pulled out his wallet and handed the waiter a thick wad of cash. “Here!”

“Sir, that’s too much!” the waiter called after him, but Ernest was already gone, vanishing into the street.

Elissa ran unthinkingly, not daring to look back. Only when her breath began to burn did she slow, realizing she had no idea where she was.

    Where on earth was she?

She turned, surrounded by unfamiliar roads.

Which street had she taken to get here?

She couldn’t remember. She had arrived by car, and now everything looked the same.

    “Hey!”

A sudden shout made her turn. A few men stood ahead, their faces splitting into mocking smiles.

The men hadn’t caught a glimpse of her face when she had her back turned to them.

When she turned around fully, their expressions shifted—interest lighting their eyes.

“You’re gorgeous!” one said, whistling low.

“Wow, look at her!” another added.

    “Hey there, need a hand?”

    “Looking for something, sweetheart?”

“No… I’m good,” Elissa stammered, her face draining of color as she took a step back. She spun on her heels, desperate to escape.

    “Don’t go yet!”

“How old are you? You look so small.”

    “What’s your name?”

“You… you…” Her voice trembled, her eyes glistened with fear as she clutched her bag. Her teeth chattered. “Go away!”

She fumbled for her phone, desperate to call for help—
