Chapter 2999

    ?Chapter 2999:

Hadley paused, a troubling thought surfacing.

She and Eric weren’t married. Not legally. They were still two separate individuals. And yet, he handed her the Scott Group?

    Wasn’t he afraid?

    “What’s going through your head?”

Eric’s voice cut in,ced with mild irritation. He caught the faraway look in her eyes and frowned.

    “Focus.”

Out of all the times to space out, she chose now?

Was she not satisfied with him? Or…

“Don’t tell me you’re already tired of me, Hadley?”

    Hadley blinked, stunned.

Since when did he have this insecure side?

Without answering, she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him, hoping to shut him up before he said anything else ridiculous.

    A??ti???? ????????????i??у on ??al??????е????

No matter how often she brought up canceling the transferter that night, Eric’s answer didn’t change.

    “Not happening.”

What he gave her was hers now.

This wasn’t something he offered on a whim, and he certainly wouldn’t take it back.

The next morning, the sun was warm and the breeze light. Eric took her to Eyton Cliff, a well-known scenic spot perched above the sea. He nned for them to skydive together.

“Skydive?” Hadley turned to him in disbelief when he mentioned it on the way there.

This whole trip—from the helicopter ride to skydiving—had been one wild rush.

Her heart dropped. “I don’t think I can do this. I’m scared.”

At least in a helicopter, she had something to hold onto. Skydiving offered nothing but open air.

“Don’t be scared.” Eric reached for her hand. “I’ll be right there with you. We’ll do a tandem jump.”

That helped. Even just a little.

When they arrived and began suiting up, Hadley felt surprisingly calm. But once they stepped inside the helicopter, she looked around and froze.

“Why are there so many people?” Two rows of jumpers lined the cabin.

“They’re instructors,” Eric said. “They’ll jump with us.”

She lowered her voice. “This many? Is it that dangerous?”

“Not really.” He smiled. “But since we’re jumping above a cliff, they’re just here to make sure we’re really okay.”

    “Oh. Okay.”

She didn’t fully get it, but her brain was too busy processing the altitude.

By the time they hovered above the cliff, her stomach flipped.

    Her hands tensed.

    “Eric.”

    “I’m here.”

They were strapped together, Hadley pressed against Eric’s chest.

“Hold me tight, okay?” she whispered, voice trembling.

Eric raised a brow. He hadn’t expected that. He actually thought she’d back out.

    “Alright.”

He dipped his head and kissed her earlobe.

    “Mr. Scott, Miss Pearson.”

An instructor approached. “The others will jump first. You’re next.”

    “Okay.”

“Move over here. Sit near the hatch.”

    “Got it.”
