?Chapter 2907:
Now that she’d made up her mind to tell Hadley, there was no way this could stay a secret from Eric and Ernest. They were family, after all.
It wouldn’t matter whether Hadley told him herself or Eric heard it directly—the result would be the same.
“Alright, then…” Hadley nodded at Chelsey.
“Just wait here for a bit. I’ll bring him in.”
“Okay.”
With that, Hadley turned and stepped outside.
Eric sat on a bench, his phone in his right hand, fingers moving across the screen as he handled a few routine tasks. When he noticed Hadleying out, he quickly slipped his phone away and rose to his feet.
“That was fast. Is it finished already?”
“No…” Hadley met his gaze, as if a thousand thoughts were racing through her mind.
After a pause, she chose her words with care.
“If I remember right, you once told me Linda was abducted, just like you and Ernest?”
“Yes.” Eric nodded.
“That’s right.”
Hadley’s eyes widened, her expression turning thoughtful.
“So after she was rescued, her parents never came back for her?”
“Yeah…” Eric nodded again, unsure why Hadley was asking all this.
With a quiet sigh, Hadley said, “Come with me. I want you to meet Chelsey.”
“Oh… alright.”
Without hesitation, Eric nodded.
Hadley had asked about Linda, then invited him to go inside. That meant Chelsey must have known something.
???????? ???????? ????: ?????????ν?????????????
“Please,e in.”
Hadley turned and walked ahead, with Eric close behind her.
When they stepped inside, the two sat together, side by side.
Hadley nodded at Chelsey. Catching on, Chelsey turned to Eric and repeated, slow and steady, “Eric, Linda is Letty’s daughter.”
“What!”
Eric just sat there, stunned.
He froze—his eyelids fluttering, brows knitting together.
Had he heard that right?
Still doubtful, he turned his head toward Hadley.
Hadley didn’t say a word—she only gave a silent nod. That was all the confirmation he needed. He hadn’t misunderstood.
“Letty…”
Eric’s lips barely parted, his voice rough with disbelief and astonishment, the name forced out as if he couldn’t quite believe it himself.
He gave a cold, quietugh and lifted his eyes to Chelsey.
“So she’s Letty’s daughter…”
Looking back, everything that happened back then felt suspicious.
