Chapter 2877

    ?Chapter 2877:

“Yes.” Phillips nodded, ncing at Eric.

“I’ve already exined it to Mr. Scott. He’ll fill you in.”

He added, “I ordered some food—it should be here any moment. Delivery isn’t allowed up here, so I’ll go collect it. You two should talk in the meantime.”

With that, he left, motioning the nurse and caregiver to follow. The room emptied, leaving only Hadley and Eric behind.

Hadley, still preupied with Joy, asked, “What did Phillips tell you?”

Eric recounted everything he knew carefully.

When he finished, Hadley’s brows pinched together.

“So we still have to wait…”

    A knock interrupted her.

Phillips’ voice filtered in from outside.

“Mr. Scott, Hadley, the food’s here.”

“Come in, please,” Hadley replied, rising to her feet.

Phillips entered carrying two takeout bags.

Eric, still tethered to the IV, couldn’t move much. Hadley unfolded the bedside table with quick efficiency.

    “Put it here.”

    “Alright.” Phillips set them down.

“Let’s eat first,” Hadley said, her tone softening slightly.

“I’m fine now—I’ll handle this. Go on, you’ve got work to do.”

    Phillips gave a short nod.

“Then I’ll leave you to it.”

“Okay.” She agreed, unpacking the meal with quiet focus.

“The food’s light and easy to digest—and there’s soup,” she said softly.

    ?????????????????? ???????? ???? g???????ν?????????????

    Perfect for Eric’s recovery.

She ced the food before him and carefully unwrapped the utensils.

Eric shifted, trying to sit up, his movements slow and strained.

“What are you doing?” Hadley eximed, startled. She set down what she was holding and reached out to steady him.

    “Why are you moving again?”

“I’m not moving around just for fun,” Eric replied, his tone calm despite the effort.

“I just want to sit up to eat.”

“And how exactly do you n to eat on your own?”

His left shoulder was injured, and per the doctor’s orders, his entire left side was immobilized. His right hand was fine, but tethered to an IV, leaving him helpless.

Realizing this, Eric pressed his lips together and said nothing.

Hadley pulled her chair closer and sat beside him.

    “I’ll feed you.”

Eric leaned against the headboard, a flicker of embarrassment crossing his face.

    “I’m troubling you too much.”

“Troubling me?” Hadley looked up at him, her eyes steady.

“After everything I’ve done before, feeding you is hardly trouble.”

She was referring to the time she carried him on her back across the mountains, risking everything to save his life. Their eyes met—one nce was enough for the memory to surface between them.
