Chapter 2873

    ?Chapter 2873:

“She’s right there—sleeping. Her condition is far better than yours.”

“Take me to her!” Eric extended his uninjured arm, struggling to rise.

Phillips moved at once to help him.

    “Yes, Mr. Scott.”

Even though Eric’s fever had not fully broken and the IV line still trailed from his arm, Phillips knew Eric would not rest—not until he saw Hadley with his own eyes.

In the adjoining room, Hadley stilly sound asleep.

Eric’s sharp features darkened as his gaze swept toward Phillips.

“This is what you call ‘better’ for her?”

To him, Hadley was still unconscious while he stood awake. How could she be “better” than him?

Phillips hesitated, choosing his words carefully.

“Mr. Scott, Hadley is fine. She’s only exhausted—she fell asleep from sheer fatigue.”

Eric’s brows drew together, doubt flickering in his eyes. Seeing his skepticism, Phillips added firmly, “It’s true. Look—she’s only on a nutrient drip.”

Eric leaned closer, scanning the information card hanging beside her bed. After confirming it for himself, his expression softened.

His fingers reached out, brushing lightly against Hadley’s cheek.

“We owe this to Hadley,” Phillips murmured.

“It was her phone signal that led us to you.”

Cautious of what Eric already knew, he asked, “Mr. Scott, do you know what happened?”

    Eric gave a slight nod.

    “I do.”

Though his strength had failed him back then, his consciousness hadn’tpletely slipped away.

    ???????????????? ?????????????? ????????: ?????????ν????????﹒?????

He remembered. It was Hadley—pushing past her limits to carry him, determined to carve out even a sliver of hope.

If not for her… would Phillips and the others have found them in time?

And if they hadn’t… would he still be alive now?

“Hadley…” he murmured, his palm cupping her delicate face. Softly, he whispered, “You’ve saved my life again… a debt I can never repay—not in this life, nor the next, nor the one after.”

On the bed, her longshes fanned across her cheeks, her lips faintly pursed—the serene expression she always wore in sleep.

“Let her rest,” Eric said quietly, pulling his hand back and rising to his feet.

    “Yes, sir.”

The two men slipped out of the room, careful not to disturb her.

Back in the next room, Phillips helped Eric settle down again, adjusting the IV.

“Mr. Scott, rest assured. The moment she wakes, I’ll inform you.”

Eric nodded, though his eyes held no trace of rest.

Leaning against the headboard, he asked, “Tell me—what’s the situation now?”

Phillips straightened, his tone turning grave.

“Hadley managed to capture a photo of the car’s license te and sent it to me. I’ve already forwarded it to Chief Gomez and Mr. Flynn. Chief Gomez traced it—it belongs to a local viger with a clean record.”
