?Chapter 2808:
He walked over, but he didn’t go too close.
He stopped at a safe distance: close enough to speak, far enough to stay out of reach.
Looking up with wary eyes, he asked, “Who are you? How do you know my name?”
“Locke,” the woman said. She removed her sunsses and crouched to his level.
“Look carefully—do you still remember me?”
The moment he saw her face, Locke stiffened.
“You’re… Grandma?”
“Yes!” Relief surged through Savannah’s anxious heart.
They had met before, but only briefly—and children grew fast.
All the way here, Savannah had worried. What if he didn’t remember her? That would have made everything far moreplicated.
Now, Savannah finally felt her heart ease. Her eyes grew moist as she nodded again and again.
“Yes, it’s Grandma. My good boy! How clever of you to still remember me.”
“Yes.” Locke nodded firmly.
“You’re Mommy’s mom. Mommy told me.”
“That’s right.” Savannah’s voice trembled, her eyes turning red.
“Then you haven’t forgotten Mommy either, have you?”
“No.” Locke shook his head with conviction.
“I’ll never forget Mommy. I’m waiting for her toe home.”
Then his small eyes glimmered with hope as he looked up.
“Grandma, do you know where Mommy is? Did Mommy go to see you?”
“Locke,” Savannah said gently, lowering herself to meet his gaze, “Grandma can tell you, but you mustn’t tell anyone else, alright? Not a single soul.”
Not anyone?

Locke furrowed his brows.
“Not even Daddy?”
“No!” Savannah shook her head firmly.
“Locke, remember—this is a secret just between you and Grandma.”
Locke’s little face puckered with doubt and conflict.
“So… can you promise Grandma?”
“Yes.” Atst, Locke nodded.
“Alright, I promise. Can you tell me now?”
His voice softened with longing.
“Is Mommy okay? I miss her so much… I’ve been so worried.”
Savannah’s heart ached at his words.
“Good boy. Your mother’s hardships to bring you into this world were worth it.” That unbreakable bond between a mother and her child—it was real.
“Your mother is safe and doing well… She misses you too. It was she who asked Grandma toe for you!”
“Really?” Locke’s eyes lit up, though a trace of doubt lingered.
“Then why didn’t Mommye herself? Is she sick?”
“No.” Savannah shook her head.
