Chapter 2660

    Chapter 2660:

    “Ah, ah…”

Through the door, Eric heard her muffled sobs. His brows furrowed, his heart aching.

How devastated must she be, to break down like this?

And how cruel must he have been before, to hurt her so deeply?

Later, Eric returned to pick her up.

They were heading to the airport to return to Srixby.

    By then, Hadley hadposed herself.

He opened the door for her, and she even gave him a soft smile.

    “Thank you.”

    “You’re wee.”

Seeing the faint redness around her eyes, Eric felt a quiet sting in his chest—and chose silence over clumsy words.

When they arrived in Srixby, night had already fallen.

Eric brought her back to Flynn Mansion, walking her all the way to Crimson House.

“Get some rest,” he murmured, his gaze lingering on her tired face.

The past few days had drained her—she looked worn, utterly spent. Their earlier confrontation still hung between them, making things feel… off.

    “Sleep well,” he added awkwardly.

“It’ste. I’ll stay in the main house. If I can manage, I’ll visit Joy in the morning.”

“Alright.” Hadley gave a faint nod and stepped inside. She was tired to her bones—even a private jet couldn’t erase the exhaustion.

“Goodnight,” Eric said softly, watching her disappear behind the door.

He was exhausted too, yet sleep felt impossibly distant. Once more, Ernest’s warning echoed in his mind, and a bitter smile touched his lips.

The next morning, Hadley slept in.

Your escape begins with ga ln ov els .

By the time she emerged, Joy was already in the hall, seated with her governess.

A maid informed her gently, “Mr. Scott stopped by earlier. He had breakfast with Miss Joy and left not long ago.”

“Alright.” Hadley nodded, sipping her iced Americano as thest traces of sleep faded from her eyes.

    Mid-breakfast, her phone buzzed.

    It was Ellis.

She paused, but then answered calmly, “Hello, Mr. Gomez.”

“Hadley,” he began without preamble, “ourst talk was cut short. I’d like to finish it.”

    “Alright,” she replied coolly.

Had he not called, she might have left things buried—but now, avoidance wasn’t an option.

“Great. When are you free?” he asked.

    “I’m open,” Hadley said.

    “Let’s go with your schedule.”

    “Perfect,” Ellis replied.

“I’m free today. I’ll send you the time and ce.”

    “Sounds good.”
