Chapter 2651

    ?Chapter 2651:

That single nce left Hadley reeling.

Linda had only been gone from their lives for half a year, but the change in her appearance was drastic. Chemotherapy had taken her hair, and a nurse had gently ced a cap over her head.

The physician presented a consent form for surgery.

    “Who’s going to sign?”

    “That’ll be me,” Hadley replied.

Technically, Ernest was Linda’s legal guardian, but Hadley held his authorization to act for him.

“If everything is in order, just add your signature right here.”

    “Understood.”

Hadley examined the form, made sure everything was correct, then put her name at the bottom and returned it to the doctor.

After all the paperwork, they could not simply leave. They had to wait, no matter what happened, until Linda’s surgery was finished.

    “We’ll do the procedure tomorrow.”

“Thank you, doctor.” Hadley expressed her gratitude, and then shifted her focus to the man next to her.

Eric stood by the ss,pletely absorbed in his thoughts as he watched Linda.

    Quietly, Hadley called his name.

    “Eric?”

“Yeah?” Eric blinked, ing back to himself. He turned to her, still looking a little lost.

“We can leave now,” Hadley told him, her wordsced with a touch of irony.

“Or would you rather go in and see her?”

The doctor had already exined that they were wee to enter once they put on protective gear.

“No, that won’t be necessary.” Eric declined right away.

    “Let’s just go.”

Thinking ahead, he asked, “Our hotel’s close by. What do you want for dinner? Should we order room service or head out?”

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

“I’m exhausted. Let’s just settle for room service.”

    “As you wish.”

They reached the hotel—avish presidential suite Quentin had arranged before their arrival.

Hadley imed the main bedroom while Eric took the other. To himself, Eric appreciated Quentin’s attention to detail.

By the time she finished her bath, room service had already brought up their dinner.

“Come on, Hadley. Let’s eat,” Eric called her over, motioning for her to join him at the table.

“Alright.” Hadley nodded and sat down.

As they faced one another, Eric poured her a ss of wine.

“The jetg might hit youter. This should help you rest.”

“Okay,” Hadley replied, pausing for a moment before bringing the ss to her lips.
