Chapter 1849

    ?Chapter 1849:

As she expected, Eric’s face went rigid, anger written all over his features.

“You’d threaten me?” Eric’s tone dropped.

For a moment, Megan thought he might actually lose control, but she braced herself and stayed put. “I don’t want to threaten you, but you make it impossible when you act so heartless.”

Deep down, Megan knew there was a line she couldn’t cross. She wasn’t here to destroy him—she just wanted him to be hers.

She dropped her eyes, her voice turning timid. “I’m not saying you need to marry me immediately. Just… don’t treat me like a stranger every time you see me. That’s all I’m asking.”

To lighten the mood, she gave him a hopeful smile and let out a tinyugh.

Eric stared at Megan, taking in her perfectly done makeup. He let out a quiet, dismissive scoff. He wanted nothing to do with Megan’s antics. Still, he couldn’t risk angering her too much.

His condition was something he needed to keep under wraps. If word got out, he’d lose everything he had worked for.

After weighing his options, Eric brushed Megan’s arm aside and kept his distance. His voice stayed icy. “You really have some nerve.”

He didn’t bother waiting for a reply. He simply walked away.

For a split second, Megan looked confused. The next moment, her eyes sparkled with excitement as she hurried after him.

“So you’re saying yes?” Her tone was eager, hope shining in her face.

Eric didn’t break his stride. He didn’t offer a single word.

Megan was already used to his silent treatment, though.

“I knew you’de around,” Megan said, beaming as she kept pace with him. “Rx. As long as you’re not pushing me away, I won’t say a word about your illness.”

Your next adventure is at g  al n ovels . con

She jogged a few steps and slipped her arm through Eric’s,pletely at ease. Upon catching sight of his sharp features, Megan’s heart skipped with happiness. He truly was handsome.

“Eric,” Megan said softly, her affection clear in her voice, “I really, really like you.”

Eric stopped and looked down at her, an eyebrow raised.

“Do you?” Eric sounded unconvinced as he pointed out, “Weren’t you just after that foreign modelst month? And before that… didn’t you chase after that up-anding actor?”

Eric never had to look far to hear about Megan’s romantic adventures. Everyone knew about her lively love life, and it was no secret that she only paid attention to men who were attractive and in great shape. Anything less never stood a chance with her.

“No, please!” Megan’s cheeks reddened at his remark. “That was just because you wouldn’t give me the time of day,” she replied, giving Eric’s arm a yful pat. “Besides, all of that was before you and I started anything. Don’t tell me you’re one to hold grudges over ancient history?”

She lifted her right hand, as if making a solemn vow. “Trust me. Now that you’re mine and I’m yours, I’ll be faithful to you from now on.”

Moving in a little closer, her voice grew yful. “Those other guys? None of them evene close. You’re on a whole different level.”
