Chapter 1799

    ?Chapter 1799:

A wave of silence washed over Hadley as she held the phone a little tighter. Deep down, she had already anticipated this, even before Brady mentioned it. Was there anything she could do to prevent them froming? That just wasn’t possible.

If they decided to attend, nothing could truly keep them away. Besides, Noreen would always be Hadley’s aunt, no matter the circumstances. And Hadley had no right to stop Noreen from paying respect to her own parents.

Brady’s feelings had to matter as well. Hadley knew she couldn’t ignore him in all this.

After a brief pause, Hadley made up her mind. “Alright. Let theme. I won’t make things any harder for you.”

“Thank you, Hadley.” Relief and guilt mingled in Brady’s reply. “I’m sorry for putting you in this situation.”<fnc4b8> Find the newest release on F?nd-Novel</fnc4b8>

“It’s okay. What matters most is that Grandpa and Grandma can rest in peace—together.” A gentle sigh escaped Hadley.

“Don’t worry, Hadley. I’ll keep an eye on Mom and Astrid. I promise they won’t bother you.” Brady tried to reassure her.

    “Alright, that’s good to hear.”

For the sake of her brother, she could ept this awkwardness.

Hadley drew in a long breath and ended the call.

With her brow knit in thought, she reyed Brady’s words—Kingsbridge had called about a spot aligned with their request?

    Such timing seemed too perfect.

A problem that had felt impossible suddenly vanished without warning. Was it just luck?

Could there be more to it… or was she reading too much into things?

Later that afternoon, Phillips entered the CEO’s office, his arms loaded with files.

“Mr. Scott, these just came in.”

Eric acknowledged him with a slight nod. “You can set them on the desk.”

“Yes, sir.” Phillips ced the documents neatly on the desk.

“There’s another update. Kingsbridge reached out to let us know the cemetery matter is settled—Brady seemed to take care of it, so he turned down the offer.”

“What did you say?” The news made Eric stop in his tracks. His gaze snapped up, and a crease formed on his brow. “He took care of it?”

“Yes.” Phillips confirmed with a steady nod. “That’s what they told me.”

Not satisfied, Eric pressed further. “How exactly did Brady manage that?”

“Honestly, I’m not sure. But Brady knows plenty of people. It wouldn’t surprise me if he pulled some strings on his own.” Phillips could only shrug.

After all, it wasn’t an impossible problem to fix.

Was that really the case? Eric said nothing for a long moment.

A brief gesture sent Phillips on his way. “Understood. You’re dismissed.”

    “Of course, Mr. Scott.”

Leaning back in his chair, Eric couldn’t shake the sense of difort. The problem was supposed to be solved, yet something still didn’t sit right with him.
