Chapter 1772

    ?Chapter 1772:

    “Take care of yourself.”

Once she left the clinic, Hadley sent a message to Colleen. Since Colleen had just wrapped up a night shift, Hadley decided to swing by the hospital herself to hand over the invitation.

Inside the hospital, Eric had just finished a long list of tests. When the resultsnded on the doctor’s desk, the doctor’s face grew grave.<fnacd3> The source of th?s content is find?novel</fnacd3>

    “What exactly is happening here?”

A confused expression lingered on the doctor’s face. “You were getting better, but now your condition has taken a sharp turn for the worse.”

“Worse?” Phillips couldn’t hide his anxiety. “Doctor, how bad is it?”

“Let’s take a closer look,” the doctor said, tapping the scan. “Notice this spot right here? It’s located right next to the brain’s control center.”

The words struck Eric like a blow. A heavy silence settled over him. His brows knitted together, and the dryness in his throat kept him silent for a moment.

Curiosity crept into the doctor’s tone. “Mr. Scott, have you been consistent with your medication?”

Eric managed a nod. “I have.”

    “That doesn’t quite add up…”

Concern lingered in the doctor’s eyes as he watched Eric, as if searching for answers in his face.

Chances were, the recent decline in Eric’s condition traced back to something weighing heavily on his mind.

Instead of pressing him for details, the doctor simply offered a gentle reminder. “Mr. Scott, as I’ve mentioned during your previous visits, keeping your spirits up is just as important as taking your medicine.”

Irritation shed in Eric’s eyes, and his patience began to fray. “Be straight with me. Am I dying?”

“No, absolutely not! That’s not what I meant,” the doctor responded, his face filled with shock.

Eric leaned forward, his impatience now unmistakable. “Enough with the runaround. What’s the n?”

“Well…” The doctor paused, nervously wiping his forehead. “We’ll keep your file here for review by the consultation team before deciding on your treatment n. If you’d like, I can have you admitted to a room while we sort things out.”

“No need,” Eric said, shaking his head firmly. His scowl deepened. He had no intention of wasting time in a hospital bed.

“Just inform me when you’ve made a decision,” he added curtly.

A respectful nod followed. “Of course. I’ll adjust your medication in the meantime.”

“Do what you have to do.”

After leaving the doctor’s office and stepping into the bright lobby, Eric’s eyesnded on a familiar silhouette.

“Hadley?” he said, his voice softer than he intended. Pausing mid-stride, the woman turned. Sure enough, it was Hadley standing there.

A gentle look softened Eric’s gaze, and a quiet smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
