?Chapter 1634:
The rain battered Elissa, drenching her hair until it stered against her skin like a sodden veil.
“You’re still recovering from childbirth! Are you trying to ruin your health?”
“Locke!” Elissa didn’t care about herself. The car’s engine roared to life, and Locke was slipping away.
“Mom, let me pass!”
“Let you pass? For what?” Savannah gripped her daughter’s arms tightly, unyielding. “Pull yourself together! You can’t let your maternal instincts cloud your judgment. This child wasn’t your choice to bring into the world!”
The car was already pulling out of the hospital gates.
“Mom!” Elissa’s eyes zed with tears as she cried out, “But he didn’t choose to be born either!”
Savannah faltered for a split second, and at that moment, Elissa wrenched herself free and sprinted after the car.
“Locke! Locke!”
“Elissa!”
But no human could outrun a vehicle.
Elissa pushed her body to its limits, the icy rain and biting air stabbing at her lungs. Yet, all she could do was watch helplessly as the car carrying Locke vanished into the distance.
Her legs buckled, and she copsed onto the rain-soaked ground, kneeling as if the weight of her grief had shattered her.
“Ah…” Elissa stared nkly ahead, her face streaked with a mix of rain and tears, indistinguishable in the deluge. “Locke… Locke…”
“Elissa,” Savannah caught up, seizing her daughter’s arm. “Get up! You can’t stay like this in the rain!”
What mother wouldn’t ache for her child?

Savannah felt her daughter’s anguish but stood firm as a mother making hard choices for her child’s future.
“Mom!” Elissa looked up, clutching Savannah’s arm, her voice breaking with desperation. “Please, tell me where Locke is. Bring him back to me, I beg you!”
“Elissa…” Savannah’s heart clenched, her own eyes welling as she shook her head. “Listen to me. This is for your own good. Locke can’t stay. Even if things with Robin fall apart, keeping this child around will only make your life harder.”
“Mom, please…” Elissa shut her eyes, copsing into her mother’s embrace, her sobs wracking her body. “I can’t lose him! I’ll bear the struggle. I’ll ept it… Mom, I’m begging you…”
“NO.” Savannah shook her head resolutely. “You’re only saying this because your maternal instincts have kicked in. This isn’t a rational choice. I can’t let you do this.”
“Elissa,” Savannah held her daughter close, trying to soothe her. “You’ll get through this. Time will mend your heart.”
“No, no.” Elissa shook her head, tears streaming. “I can’t. I won’t survive this. Locke… My baby…”
“Locke!”
