Chapter 1442

    ?Chapter 1442:

“Stay a while longer, okay?” she suggested. “When Joy wakes up, spend some time with her before you leave.”

Before, they hadn’t had that chance. But now that they lived together, they could—and should—give Joy what she deserved: both her parents present. And when Hadley wasn’t around, that responsibility fell to him.

“Okay,” Eric nodded, the dried fruit still in his mouth. Noints.<fnd237> This update is avable on Find★Novel</fnd237>

Meanwhile, at Flynn Mansion, Ernest had just ended the call and let out a quiet sigh. When he looked up, Linda was already approaching in her wheelchair.

    She offered a smile. “Morning.”

“Morning,” Ernest replied, weighing his next words. Now might be the right time.

“What’s wrong? You look like you’ve got something to say.”

“I do,” Ernest nodded, paused, and then spoke directly. “Eric called. He’s found a doctor for you.”

Linda’s smile faded. She gave a tight nod. “Is that so?”

“Yeah. This doctor’s well-known. He’s treated many patients sessfully.”

Linda’s face stayed neutral. “Sounds impressive.”

“He’s already reviewed your case. There’s hope.”

“Okay.” Her voice was calm. She listened, but her expression didn’t change.

“He’s based in Aradimen. His schedule is packed. You should start preparing—I’ll make the arrangements to send you there soon.”

“Ha!” Before he could finish, Linda let out a dry, mockingugh.

“I knew it.” She gave him a sharp look, her smile edged with disdain. “So, how long did you two work on this little excuse?”

    “Linda,” Ernest frowned.

“Aradimen?” Her smile vanished, and her gaze turned cold. “You want to send me that far away?”

Her tone dropped, hard and biting. “For treatment? Is that what we’re calling it? You just want me out of the picture. You think I’m in the way. You’re afraid I’ll ruin things for you two.”

Ernest’s brows drew tight. “Is that really what you believe?”

“Yes!” Linda snapped. “You’re tired of me now, aren’t you?”

Her eyes burned. “Have you forgotten who pulled you through? If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t even be alive. Both of you!”

Her breath came faster. “You want to push me out? Not a chance. I’m not going.”

“Linda.” Ernest cut her off, his voice low with disbelief. “How could you say that?” He nced at her legs, and then back at her face. “Can’t you see this is for you? You’re still young. Do you really want to spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair?”

Linda went silent, her expression frozen.

Ernest sighed and shook his head. “If you don’t want to go, no one’s forcing you. But are you really willing to give up your future just to stay angry?”

Linda’s pale face twisted into a bitter smile.

Ernest exhaled. “This is your life. Think about it.”
