Chapter 1399

    ?Chapter 1399:

“Forget it.” Hadley shook her head. “I’ve said what I needed to. Do whatever you want.”

“Alright.” Eric nodded with a faint smile. “I understand.” His calmness only confused her more.

At Linda’s vi, the house was in chaos.

Linda had shattered everything she could reach.

Breathing heavily in her wheelchair, her eyes glinted with rage.

“Eric! Hadley!” She ground out their names between clenched teeth. “Well done. You’ve really made me mad this time. Ha… ha…”

Her caretaker stood nearby, frozen in ce. She stared at Linda’s twisted expression, torn between fear and concern. She opened her mouth to speak but eventually stopped herself.

“What are you standing there for?” Linda’s re snapped toward her.

“Get over here! Can’t you see my hand is hurt?”

“Oh!” Jane flinched and stepped forward carefully. She reached for Linda’s arm. “Miss Harris, your hand…”

“I’m fine!” Linda hissed. Pain shed across her face, and sweat gathered on her brow. “It’s not going to kill me.” She had no intention of dying just yet.

She nned to live. And everyone who abandoned her—everyone who made her crawl—they’d pay for it.

“Miss Harris, I’ll call an ambnce!”

    “Then go!”

The car pulled into Olisvale Bay.

The side doors to the south wing were open, and Joy came running out in her cute dress.

    “Mommy, Mommy!”

“Joy!” Hadley stepped out quickly and scooped her daughter into her arms. “You’re still awake?”

“I was waiting for you!” Joy rested her head on Hadley’s shoulder.

“Melba said you’d be back soon.”

Hadley had called earlier to say she’d be home after filming.

“I wanted to wait so I could say goodnight.”

The little one had missed her mother. Hadley kissed her temple gently. “You’re such a good girl. Let’s go pick out a story and tuck you in.”

“Okay!” Joy nodded obediently, then turned and waved at Eric.

    “Hurry up! Come with us!”

“Alright.” Eric chuckled and followed them inside.<fn9b72> Follow current nov?ls on Find~Novel</fn9b72>

“Mr. Scott…” A voice called from behind.

Eric turned around and saw Tamara—Hadley’s bodyguard. He raised an eyebrow. “What is it?”

Tamara gave a small nod. “Miss Pearson hasn’t had dinner tonight.”

What? His expression shifted immediately. “How could that be? There should have been meals provided!”
