Chapter 1380

    ?Chapter 1380:

“Here,” Kira pointed to a certain section in the ledger. “It’s here. Comparing these figures to previous years, these entries look unusual, don’t they? They just don’t add up.”

“Let’s see…” N’s eyes scanned the page. “Hmm?”

Abruptly, N stopped, her eyes widening behind the lenses as she focused. Doubtful of her initial impression, she scrutinized the figures again and again. “This isn’t right… What in the world is happening?” N’s head snapped up, her expression hardening into a serious mask.

    Kira had unearthed something important.

Observing N’s reaction, Kira knew her concerns were valid. “Mrs. Flynn, is this something you should take care of personally?” Kira asked.

N’s brows drew together in a deep furrow as she nodded decisively. “Certainly, this needs to be addressed immediately!” There was no question; this couldn’t be ignored.

Her hand reached for the phone, and she punched in a familiar number. “Hello? N?”

    The call was to Linda.

“Linda, it’s me,” N said, her tone firm. “Could youe over? I need to speak with you.”

“Alright. I’ll be there soon,” Linda replied.

Even after ending the call, the worry etched on N’s face remained. As she considered the situation, N knew a conversation with Linda alone wouldn’t be enough. She needed to talk to Eric too.

In those years, Eric had managed external affairs, while Linda handled the internal matters. Did Eric have any knowledge of this? Or was he actually part of it?

Though they weren’t her blood rtives, N had raised them both, and a fierce protectiveness surged within her. She needed to uncover the truth; she wouldn’t allow any injustice.

“Indeed…” N murmured, a steely resolve in her voice. She raised a hand, rubbing her temple as a wave of determination washed over her. “If I discover any shady business here, they will face the consequences!” With newfound resolve, she reached for her phone again and dialed Eric’s number.

With no other obligations, Linda readily agreed toe over. True to her word, Linda arrived within the hour.

Kira greeted her and gestured toward the terrace. “Miss Harris, Mrs. Flynn is enjoying the sun.”

“Thank you, Kira,” Linda said with a smile. She then instructed the family housekeeper, “You don’t need to stay; I’ll be keeping Npany.”

    “Understood.”

Linda then pushed the wheelchair to the terrace.

“N, I’ve arrived,” Linda announced her presence.

N sat ramrod straight in her wheelchair on the terrace. Her eyes fixed on Linda, and shemanded, “Close the door.”

A flicker of unease crossed Linda’s face; the atmosphere felt heavy. “Alright,” Linda replied, nodding as she maneuvered the wheelchair to shut the terrace door. Then, she positioned her wheelchair beside N’s.

“N, you sounded quite urgent on the phone. What’s happened?” Linda inquired.

“Of course, and it’s important,” N said, her brows drawing together as her right hand fiddled with the bracelet on her left wrist. Her gaze locked onto Linda’s, unwavering and direct. “Let’s cut to the chase. Five years ago, when Hadley left the Flynn family and moved abroad, were you the one responsible for sending her monthly living expenses?”

A visible tension gripped Linda, and her expression shifted abruptly.
