Chapter 1258

    ?Chapter 1258:

The paparazzo felt a sharp yank at his cor, and before he could react, he was hurled aside like a rag doll.

    “Ah…” he groaned, dazed.

    “Hadley!”

Eric, arriving in the nick of time, shoved the paparazzo into the hands of Phillip, his trusted aide.

“Don’te any closer!” Hadley’s voice cut through the air as Eric stepped toward her, freezing him in his tracks.

    “Hadley?”

    Eric paused, sensing something amiss.

Her face was ashen, her lips drained of color, and her eyes—those vacant, haunted eyes—seemed to gaze right through him, as if he were a ghost.

“Hadley, it’s me, Eric. Look at me,” Eric urged, edging closer.

“Stay away!” Hadley cried out, her voice a fierce tremorced with fear.

Silent tears cascaded down her face. “I said stay back!”

Her fingers mped around the brick, her body shaking like a leaf in a gale.

This had to stop—she was on the verge of harming herself!

Eric’s face darkened with worry. In a swift motion, he stepped forward, his hand darting to the nape of Hadley’s neck.

With a faint grunt, Hadley’s eyes rolled to the back of her skull, and she crumpled, slipping into unconsciousness.

Eric caught her deftly in one arm, his other hand gently freeing the brick from her grasp. He cast a sharp nce at the bodyguard hovering nearby and barked, “Fetch the car—now!”

    “On it, sir!”

“To, sir?” the bodyguard asked as they settled into the vehicle. Eric gazed down at Hadley, tenderly brushing stray locks from her pale face. “Olisvale Bay.”

In her current state, she might unsettle Joy if they went to her ce. Besides, he wanted a doctor to examine her.

    “Okay, sir.”

At Olisvale Bay, Eric carried Hadley from the car into the elegant home he had made his own.

The doctor, summoned en route, had arrived just ahead of them.

“Please, check on her,” Eric urged.

    “Of course.”

After a thorough examination, the doctor offered reassurance. “Physically, Miss Pearson is perfectly fine. But from what you’ve described, I suspect she may have suffered a psychological episode. I’m no expert in that field, but if you’re concerned, I would rmend consulting a specialist.”

Eric nodded, his brow creased with concern. “Understood. Thank you.”

    “You can go now.”

    “Alright.”

As the doctor departed, Eric settled on the edge of the bed, his eyes tracing Hadley’s still form, lost in thought.

The doctor had noted that Hadley’s outburst likely stemmed from deep-seated psychological traumas.

Maybe there was truth to it.
