?Chapter 1251:
Linda arched a brow. “You didn’t have to do this. I’m already doing fine.”
Her lifestyle was already luxurious. But no amount of wealth could fix her legs.
All Eric could give her was money, but that wasn’t really what she needed.
“Linda, my mother’s health isn’t great. I’ve moved back to the Scott estate to take care of her.”
“Hmm?” Linda’s smile froze, caught off guard. A wave of unease crept into her chest. “You’re noting back to Silver Vis?”
Eric didn’t answer. His silence spoke volumes.
After a long moment’s pause, Eric spoke again. “Linda, make sure you look after yourself. Even if I can’t be there, I’ve made arrangements for your care and treatment. Someone will see to it.”
The air between them turned heavy. They were both adults, and the meaning behind his words was unmistakable.
Neither spoke for a while. Only the sound of their quiet breathing could be heard on the line.
“Linda?” Eric finally broke the silence. “Are you still there? Let me know if you need anything.”
Linda snapped back to reality and smiled faintly. “I don’t need anything else. You’ve already arranged everything for me. Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of myself.”
“Alright. I have to go… Goodbye.”
“Goodbye.” Linda held the phone for a moment longer. As soon as the call ended, the color drained from her face, and she closed her eyes.
What was that?
Eric hadn’t said it outright, but every word was his way of saying goodbye. This was what he left her with after walking away. His final arrangement.
“Ha-ha-ha!” Linda suddenly burst intoughter, the sound growing louder with each breath.
“Miss Harris?” Phillips walked over, frowning with concern as he watched her. “Are you alright?”
“Am I alright?” Linda stoppedughing all at once. Her eyes turned cold as she stared straight ahead. Then, in a calm, almost detached tone, she responded, “I’m perfectly fine.”

But deep down, she knew the truth. From this point on, she was on her own. Eric had walked away without even saying goodbye to her face. So cruel and heartless!
Around seven o’clock, Eric left the Scott Group.
“Mr. Scott, where to?”
Eric thought for a second and then gave the address.
Hadley had a script reading for her new drama today, and he was heading over to pick her up.
Of course, the information didn’te from Hadley. It was Elvin who had told him.
Just then, a taxi turned the corner and pulled out into the road. “Follow that Bentley.”
“Understood.”
After the table reading session ended, Hadley stepped out of the main entrance and immediately spotted Eric standing by the car. “Hadley!”
She stopped in her tracks, but then quickly understood. Tracking her whereabouts was never a challenge for him.
With a smile, Eric walked over and gazed at her makeup-free face. “All done? Ready to go home? I’ll drive you.”
